For other countries Yes, for India No.. It all depends on the popularity and funding. Both are remarkable becuase in chess olympiad whole world participates like 190+ countries so more competition. But in cricket though less competition, there are more dynamics to the game like outdoor conditions. In chess u rely only on thinking but in physical sports its execution along with thinking

No: cuz 1) one should know the value of having FULL control and authority over a sport globally, and its importance on a geopolitical stage. This is beyond sports and necessary for a wannabe superpower nation. 2) Indian Cricket & cricket players earned whatever they have now. They didn't say stop focusing on hockey and pay attention to cricket. So it's not at all necessary to drag cricket or any other sport into mud for the sake of some other sport. It's the same as future generations saying enough of these chess wins (assuming we would be in a commanding position) now let's just shift the attention to pickleball. It doesn't make sense. We can enjoy both.
