Жыл бұрын

4425 individual photos played in 24 frames per second. Animated in Dragonframe. Edited in Adobe Premiere and Adobe Photoshop. Sound effects recorded with a Blue Yeti. Plastilina from JOVI mixed with a little bit of FIMO clay.
It took me a whole year to animate this crazy project. I took a break from everything else and just animated because I wanted to animate. This animation isn't for everyone, but I had fun. I had the chance to animate something personal for the first time in a very long time. I really REALLY hope you enjoy! I look forward to more personal projects in the near future, but not as work heavy as this one!
Some soundeffects downloaded from Freesound.org:
Dramatic Tension by AaronGNP - freesound.org/s/54615/
Autumn wind and dry leaves by Stek59 - freesound.org/s/457318/

Every single frame in this masterpiece is an artwork in and of itself, and considering it’s probably 20 fps with a runtime of 2:26 seconds that is nearly 3000 frames. I love your work so much. Seeing your animation skills grow from your first animation you posted 13 years ago to the stuff that you create in the present is wonderful. It's so horrifyingly beautiful and the medium is perfect for the type of animations that you do. Everything you do comes together so cohesively, The sound effects you add, the cinematography / directing that you do, down to the fucking little shakes of the camera whenever something is moving around. It makes me feel something so completely. I will never get over how amazing the work you do is. I have loved your deeply unsettling animations ever since you came out with euphoria years ago. The detail of your sculptures are unbelievable and the fact you have the time impatience to make them move so smoothly is astounding. I love your work and the vibes / stories you convay. I live for this uncomfortable and unsettling content. This newest animation hit different, the isolated setting in the middle of a forest, power of the scream at the end with the shake of the camera, the eyes in the window frames, the cracking of the highly detailed hands whenever they moved, really made me feel something so deeply in my soul. Nothing I say will ever be able to convey how much I truly adore your art, but I tried my best. Thank you for always putting in the effort to create something horrifically, terrifyingly, and truly beautiful.

I'm going to be honest, Guldies, it's been literally since 2018 (back when I was still in college) since I've watched literally ALL of your original videos from Instagram, and it mesmerized me to no end how anyone could take such time to create stop motion and sculpt in levels as grand as this. I haven't seen your stuff since then, but the moment I saw this on the KZbin algorithm, I knew I had to drop everything I was going to look up and watch this. You say that you don't know how to do this anymore, but this shows that whatever skills you have learned and built over the years has continued to amaze people in ways you may never know! I seriously hope more people see your talent and continue to share it with others, just like I will with my discord group. I don't think I'll ever get to properly thank you for being one of the coolest sculptor/stop-motion animators out there, but from the bottom of my heart, I hope your talents continue to shine! And I hope you (along with any commenter who reads this whole thing) have a wonderful year!

My general hypothesis behind the story is: Pinecone represents a new life. Life grows up by imitating environment, exploring itself and experimenting. The life gains knowledge in exchange for passion and finally can imitate those around them. The tree it becomes represents resources, trees come together to form a household. Household is disturbed by some calling, where it produces a new life, and the cycle begins again.

I've been looking forward to this day for a very long time: the day Guldies uploads another stop-motion video. They're so high-quality and surreal that it's an experience to cherish. The fact that this video loops is incredible, too. It's strange and surreal like a car crash that you just can't look away from; it draws the viewer close to participate in the experience. Rather than simply watching the video idly, it demands participation on behalf of the viewer. Your videos have struck a delicate balance. Please continue. How do you feel about variable framerate (VFR) techniques? I know it'd be a lot more work, but the suggestion is there. Peruse it if you desire :)

I love your take on it. Thanks for sharing, and thank you SO much for your kind words! I'm not a big fan of variable framerates. My brain picks it up immediately. I often hold frames at the end of a movement to play around with the timing of things. Not more than 2-3 frames!
