We are considering purchasing this model trailer. If you don't mind me asking why did you decide to sell it?
@kevin83FL Жыл бұрын
We just needed to upgrade to a bigger trailer, so we sold and upgraded the tow vehicle at the same time. This was decent, not great, but for the $ it was good. The fit and finish was not great, but overall it was a decent trailer. I honestly have been looking at ones that cost double, and this one compares to those, so we were happy with it, just needed a bit larger.

Do you pull this camper with the black Chevy in the video?
@kevin83FL2 жыл бұрын
That truck in the video is my neighbor's truck. I pull this trailer with my 2021 Hyundai Palisade. The dry weight is 3,999lbs and loaded is just shy of the 5k max I can pull with the Palisade. I get around 12mpg at 55mph and about 10mpg at 60mph pulling it with the Palisade.

Oh okay I was just wondering because I have a Silverado 8 cylinder was just wondering if it would probably pull that camper okay.I happened to see the Silverado in your video assumed it was yours.
@kevin83FL2 жыл бұрын
@@kellybishop6801 a Silverado should have no issue pulling it. Check your towing capacity, I assume it should be around 8,000lbs or so. This is the biggest travel trailer I could find that was about 4,000lbs dry, and now we need a bigger one, so it looks like we will need to upgrade our tow vehicle also.
@kellybishop68012 жыл бұрын
Yes I think my towing capacity is 7800 lb I had thought about the 197bh but the 248bh seems to be about 4 ft or so longer in length and also had the pantry space beside the refrigerator compared to the 197 and the 248 is a double axle.. I'm just trying to figure out if the extra space is worth the extra 1,000 lb of weight
@kellybishop68012 жыл бұрын
Also forgot to ask you the best deal I can find on that 248bh in Virginia where I live is around $22, 997 does that seem like a good deal to you for that camper?

How is the ac unit? Does it cool enough and is it quiet? It sounds pretty quiet in your video.
@kevin83FL2 жыл бұрын
I just sold this unit to Camping world in Tampa, but the a/c unit worked everywhere in the United States EXCEPT Southern California in the summer time. It was not quiet at all, it was super loud. There was 3 speeds but all of them were loud and very little difference in actual fan speed. The trailer was okay , but honestly Gulfstream coach was horrible and wouldn't warranty stuff that should have been within warranty. I ended up having to pay $570 at the shop to have stuff fixed that should have been covered.
@Lunaticinaz282 жыл бұрын
@@kevin83FL wow, that's not good. Seems like the reviews of gulf stream just keep getting worse. I think I'm going to err on the side of caution and look at ones that are a little better quality. I like the floor plan of these but it seems like the build quality is terrible. I have a pop up now and the AC unit sounds like the AC unit on a big rig with a cooler trailer lol. We definitely want something quieter.
@kevin83FL2 жыл бұрын
@@Lunaticinaz28 I don't know why they don't start implementing the mini-split units as those are way quieter, more efficient, and can be mounted on the side/front/rear rather than the roof. But yeah, I felt the quality was really lacking on my unit. My issue with the warranty was mainly the staples coming out everywhere from the first week I bought it. The microwave bracket came loose, some of the panels were not attached when I purchased it, the main fill hose for the fresh water tank was kinked, etc.

No heater?
@kevin83FL2 жыл бұрын
Sorry, if you go to 12:50 you can see the thermostat for it. The original one was a dometic and horrible. The furnace is propane and works very, very well. We stayed one night in a walmart parking lot when it was 15 degrees outside, and our black and gray water tanks froze because they are mounted to the outside of the coach, but we never felt cold or even cool. The heater works awesome though. This was originally a for sale video, but we have recently changed our mind into trading it in. Thank you for the comment

@@Troll4youu this has a bunk bed at the back, if I were you, I would look at some coleman trailers, as it doesn't seem like you need to sleep this many people lol, we have 5 total, so it is still a bit small for us. It's a decent trailer, not top knotch, but decent. If you do get it, I would upgrade the thermostat right away though. Also the tongue weight is a lot if you fill your freshwater tank in the 2021 model as they put it up front. I am not 100% sure, but I think they moved it to the back in newer models. Definitely something to check.
