Thanks for the great video. This plugin has been a secret weapon for me for some time. Another really good use is using it as an analyser. I run tracks or whole songs through it to see what it tames or recovers. I then apply these boosts or attenuation with my own favourite EQs. Handy trick.

I discovered Gullfoss by accident, got curious and downloaded the 14 trial. I put it on 3-4 tracks on the master buss and was immediately sold and floored. I bought it 20 mins after trying it. That's a record for me! If used without abusing it, it will take your mixes to the next level. I Recover and Tame anywhere from 25-30% tops on already good but busy mixes. After Gullfoss I can now hear everything clearer and with more dimension. Now I'm wondering how I ever lived without it. The best $200 (U.S Dollars) I've spent in a long time on a plugin, plus now they've added the Live and Mastering version which is even more precise. Awesome plugin!

I got Gulfoss and Sonible’s smart bundle last year. I definitely like Gulfoss as a final/master EQ, as well as for groups (yes, I’m a Cubase user 😁) and for instruments with complex/dynamic timbres (pads basically).

Hi @domsigalas , I m a Cubase fanatic user and love your work. I found more about Gullfoss when I was searching for a plugin as alternative price for the Soothe2. The best definition for this kind of plugin would not be exactly simply an EQ but a "dynamic resonance suppressor". About hte giveway I m in !! Thanks for your great videos always.

Coming from the premiere with no IG account :) I think this could be very helpful on some orchestral strings too, as older libraries can sound a bit harsh sometimes. Would welcome a comparison with Soothe if you feel like it ! Sorry if I was meant to tag 2 friends here on KZbin, I don’t have any unfortunately. Thank you for the video and keep up the good work ! You convinced me to switch from Logic to Cubase as soon as I can, and thanks to you I can’t wait to have the mean to acquire a Montage :) Cheers !

Have you tried the Sonible plugins? Love using the compressor for side chain ducking.
@artysanmobile3 жыл бұрын
I’d call this plug-in the “Mixus Fixus”. It’s very impressive but I can’t see myself using it much. Maybe if I’m in an alcohol haze and want to check my hearing, but I wouldn’t trust my mix to something this invasive. Maybe a vocal stem. Hearing and watching your examples, I would kill for a ‘speed’ knob.
@Am6-93 жыл бұрын
In real life you would use much lower values for recover and tame (not more than 10) than for demonstration purposes in a KZbin video, then it sounds much less invasive. If you want more control, Voxengo TEOTE does a similar thing (albeit with a different technology behind) with more control possibilities, and imho better sound when doing more drastic processing.

Sorry Dom for asking a very off topic question........I am planning to buy a Yamaha mx61 keyboard I have seen a few videos about it but I wanted to ask you is that really a good choice for live situations?
