Your cards always impress me so much - you start with a white piece of paper, die cut or not, and see the possibility of what it could be. And then you make that happen! It’s a rare talent! It’s particularly impressive since is mostly “create as you go”! And, in the end, it’s a beautiful card! Well done! TFS

Well that was a lot of work, but as usual, a stunning result. I thought that die was a row of houses or a church when it first fell out 😂 would mod podge work instead of slap it on. I'm glad I'm not the only one who buys things and doesn't use them until thy are rediscovered much later 😂😂

An interesting and pretty piece of mixed media Chrissie and the Tattered Rose and Pumice Stone inks work together well, and love the chalk mousse which tones the stamping down really well, and I love the added snowflake and trees as well as the stamped ones and a lovely mixture of stencilling too. A wonderful way of using the Gummiapan die too. x

Wowsa. Not your everyday Christmas card. I think it's a lovely piece of artwork. My gin days 3 and 4 were an Irish potato gin (surprisingly good) and one from Wales. I'm traveling around the world this year. I made good headway yesterday on my holiday cards getting about half of them addressed and notes added. I have trouble relaxing until I get them all posted. It's amazing how much I look forward to the daily advent openings. To think this beautiful card is inspired by a kind of nondescript die. I'm not sure I would have had any idea what to do with it.
@ChrissieannieАй бұрын
I love your daily info comments, I think you’re more of a gin connoisseur thank am! Do you have full bottles of these varieties or are they from your calendar ?
@kcinca5410Ай бұрын
@@Chrissieannie These are from my calendar. I've been enjoying more G&Ts this season than wine so I only haven't sampled the one from Wales. The gins I mentioned that I liked when you asked about Chase are the ones I keep on hand (if I can find them in stock). The Hendrick's Grand Cabaret will go away permanently sometime as it's a Hendrick's Curiosity one so they only make a certain amount and then they don't have it anymore. 😥

Perhaps you should make a door hanger with "On Air" , instead of do not disturb.😂 Lovely card and I love how you can still manage to get the elegance of a CAS card , even with mixed media. My fave is using both mixed media but also mixed techniques, e.g I will crochet a doily, tat a butterfly, and make a parchment art background. However, I just do not have your talent for CAS cards. My head knows the logic, less is more, but nope the more I look at something, I go back and add just one more thing.I simply do not have the self control. You probably already know this, but when it comes to texture pastes and mediums like gesso etc. it is best not to buy from craft companies. They overcharge for tiny amounts. I go to local art store and buy large tubs for less than the cost of the tiny craft ones. They are also better quality and don't dry up. I bought Dina Wakely clear gesso, and it was dried up before I even opened it. At the art store you will also find qualified staff who can advise on what the product does and how to use it. I made the silly mistake of buying Tim Holtz mosaic distress set. The tubs were tiny and I had to laugh when I realised it was only white coloured pumice stone gel, matte medium glue and 3d glaze. All of which I already use in journaling. I caved today and looked up Gummiapan. I was resisting as I already have a wishlist of things to buy over the coming year. I must say I am impressed with the prices. I know they are small, but they are practical, cute and a good alternative to the larger ones. They would work well on the inserts we make for our cards too. I definitely want the notebook one and the frogs and the wee teddy lying on his back.
@ChrissieannieАй бұрын
I do make my own embossing paste which I mix with all sorts of odds and ends at different times. The pots I have just acquired were all on clearance and so cheap enough to warrant having a play! I really know very little about mixed media, I just do what I do! It sounds as though you are a most accomplished crafter of many disciplines!😊
@Cre8tiveConnexionsbyLilliaАй бұрын
oh yes the craft companies can have brilliant sales. I bought a whole bunch of those multi die floral sets called Susan's Garden from a Sizzix sale one year and they were silly prices, literally a pound or two each. I grabbed as many as I could as they were flying off the shelves. I have been crafting since I was 8. Started with cross stitch then moved to rubber stamping when the magazines said we couldn't sell our cards, not even for just cost price. However the stamp companies had fantastic angel policies. Then the art store had workshops on 3D decoupage, and then I discovered parchment art. My favourite. I learned to colour properly and cut and layer through these two crafts. Coloured pencil artists were really kind to us crafters sharing their techniques and being patient with us. That is why i like crafters like you who are willing not just to recommend good products, but to share your skills too. I must admit I lost my papercraft mojo for a few years there, sticking to tatting, knit and crochet, and kumihimo and macramé. A mix of poor health and being fed up with non stop product videos and everything looking the same, no skill sharing, and of course the hypocrisy that invaded the parchment craft guild , when a certain businesswoman took over a parchment company and lay claim to inventing something another company had already been making for at least five years, which the women who work for her now criticised others for using. There are no pattern books being made now and the magazine went out of business.
@Cre8tiveConnexionsbyLilliaАй бұрын
However, I took a free two month trial of youtube premium, and without all those ads I did take a peak at some papercraft videos. You have helped me get my mojo back. I still have my brass stencils and lacé templates etc. I loved the 80s and 90s when so many techniques were shared , like teabag folding, iris folding, ornare, trapunto,spirelli, paper embroidery and so on. I must admit those stamp positioners, especially the rotational ones are fantastic, so many old stamps getting a new lease of life in the next year I am sure.
@ChrissieannieАй бұрын
@ you just keep having fun!

@ my mother was wonderful at doing crochet, knitting, sewing etc and my sister in law did tatting, and although I have dabbled with some of them I prefer papercraft, which I only took up in 2007 when I made my daughter's wedding stationery!

I would love to hear from anyone with experience of the longevity of Nuovo products. I very much regret spending a lot of money on Creative Expressions products in the past e.g. gilding waxes, shimmer glues, their version of liquid pearls etc. They all dried up very quickly, even unopened items. It reminds me of all my Colorbox pigment inkpads , where the sponges disintegrated leaving pools of ink everywhere. At least the felt pads in my Ranger inks stay in good condition, and even old pads just need a misting of water and maybe a drop of reinker, and they replaced all of the distress stains in my collection that lost their colour, when I showed them my storage to prove they were not in sunlight. CE never even replied to my emails. I don't mind investing in good quality products, so would appreciate any feedback regarding Nuovo. I do need to replace my dried up products.
