@@CakesbyLynz I live in an extremely humid country, and when I leave my gum paste models to dry out the day ahead it dries out nicely. But the next day it starts to get soften, shiny and sticky to touch. for which I started to add a bit of CMC powder. Is there any way I can prevent this issue without putting CMC powder?

How do I ensure the core is dried before I start sticking the petals??
@CakesbyLynz3 жыл бұрын
Hi Sneha, As you can see in the tutorial I actually use a kitchen blow torch to heat up the wire and stick it into the flower bud. This means you can start working on the rose when the flower bud is still soft. If you wanted to use edible glue to attach the wire instead, then I would leave the flower buds over night to allow them to dry out and for the wire to become secure. Alternatively you can get polystyrene flower buds from some cake decorating shops.

Is gumpaste the same as fondant ?
@CakesbyLynz2 жыл бұрын
No, gumpaste is a little different. With gumpaste or floral paste you are able to roll it a lot thinner than fondant without it ripping. This is perfect for making flowers. It also dries completely solid and holds it's shape.

@CakesbyLynz2 жыл бұрын
Hi Rita, Gumpaste and Fondant are slightly different. Fondant is a lot softer and what you would use for covering a cake. Gumpaste or floral paste is a lot more stretchy. It allows you to roll it really thin without ripping. Also gumpaste / floral paste sets completely solid unlike fondant, so this makes it perfect for flowers.

What the difference between fondant and gum paste,,,,, please somebody help me know. Thank you
@CakesbyLynz2 жыл бұрын
Hi, Fondant is usually used to cover cakes. It is quite soft and takes a while to set, although it never gets completely hard. Gumpaste or floral paste is usually used for flowers as it has a lot more stretch, meaning it can be rolled really thin without ripping. It also dries a lot quicker and sets completely solid making it perfect for flowers.
