I lived in Atlanta in 1991. Was little but I remember going to watch the Braves play at old Fulton Country Stadium 😬 anyways, once they decided to break the private gate down, all bets are off and it's no longer a protest. I 100% believe they would have been looted, or worse, had they not been armed

95% of American gun owners have the same level of training as these folks. Hats off to them for taking a stand when no one would help them. That's our 2nd Amendment in action. Private street, private property. It doesnt matter where the "protesters" wanted to go, they were trespassing the moment they forced the gate open.
@Point_Particle
@Point_Particle 4 жыл бұрын
@@seanhazelwood3311 Still not a reason to stand on your lawn waving loaded firearms at the trespassers. Keep your firearms with you, and hot, but you don't point a gun at anything unless you plan to pull the trigger. I'm pretty sure a jury wouldn't side with you for shooting into a crowd of people who broke a gate to walk down your street and yell mean things at you in the middle of the afternoon. It seems to me that too many people are too quick to grab a gun and point it at someone for the any reason. Keep in mind, that these two wanna-be commandos took it upon themselves to escalate the situation, drawing all of the worst kind of attention to themselves, the second they decided to waltz out waving their guns at this crowd of trespassers. I don't know how they thought that was going to turn out, but it was THEM (the homeowners) who escalated the situation to lethal. Do you reach for your gun every time you see teens skateboarding someplace where there are signs up prohibiting skateboarding? Do you reach for a gun every time you see a smoker throw a burning cigarette butt out their car window? Do you reach for a gun every time a driver makes an illegal lane change, cutting you off, and then flips you the bird when you honk at them? There are times when deadly force is necessary, and then there are times when it isn't. There are grey areas where you might need to be prepared for it, just in case, but if you escalate the situation to deadly, regardless of the circumstances, then you're a dangerous idiot.

Very good, i never heard it put that way but i like the analogy a lot!!👍 I absolutely believe they had the right to be out there protecting there property with guns in hand, otherwise you know they would have (at least) busted windows and who knows maybe killed them if things escalated. I think it is totally ignorant to address the fact the woman maybe the man to was pointing there guns all over the place and at times at the crowd, at this point the rioters were already breaking the law and trespassing so who gives a shit. Think of it this way, the home owners had guns ""because of the rioters breaking onto private property"" they went out side ""because of the rioters breaking onto private property"" the home owners were absolutely scared and in fear of there lives ""because the rioters breaking onto private property"".....bottom line here if they did shoot and killed (if the rioter rushed them) it would have (should have been justified) the mayor, governor and the dumb cunt lawyer that wants to prosecute the home owners for doing nothing more than standing there ground should all be fired and kicked out of the state or better yet the country.

The homeowners display of force most likely saved lives here, their's. If they had cowered inside their home it would have emboldened the mob. The presence of ARMED resistance deescalated this situation, I have no doubt. Also who knows who was in the house that they could have been protecting? Their children? Their Grandchildren? Who knows. The homeowners did exactly what was required, they maybe could have done it better (prettier), but they got the job done peacefully and that is all that matters. I say well done to the homeowners.

Look at some of the closeups of her, that lady was scared as all hell, he’s in socks feet, no time to put shoes on, if he wasn’t scared he was damn close to it. I would not only have done the same thing but have done the same with way few less people coming on our property. Thirty miles from nearest town in some beautiful Idaho mountains. A sheriff’s deputy once told my wife after she reported some illegal hunters( that they did catch), that it is a 40min respond time to reach us with them running code ( lights&sirens). We are at the end of a1.5mi long drive way that is repeatedly posted private drive and no trespassing signs. Hell ya you are met/greeted by a armed home/property owner if we have no idea who you are or why your coming down our drive. Yes we know how to use firearms very well. I grew up with them using them, I am also retired military (Army Infantry) and have taught my family what I know. My wife has taken several classes (with my urging and blessings) and has passed new stuff on to our adult son and myself (I sure as hell don’t know everything) and we train at home and in home, We have enough property and a mountain backstop that allows us to do all the shooting we want. I don’t mean anyone here, but I remember watching a Paul Herrel video and he and his friends were out, and a group of people started shooting at them. His friend “joe” who had also been in the marines ended up throwing down his weapon and getting behind the truck for cover with Paul. So if someone out there with no training or has never been in a situation where they feel threatened thinks it’s okay to mock this couple and their handling of their firearms, maybe they ought to think again about how badass they think they are going to be when the poo hits the fan.

It's simple. An older couple, in a private gated community, is confronted by a crowd of "protesters". This couple had been watching the news for weeks, seeing how these crowds of "protesters" were acting. According to the couple, verbal threats against themselves/home/pets had been spoken by the "protesters". They saw that the gate to the street had been forcefully opened. The couple acted with the means and methods they had available. If a person or crowd breaks open my driveway gate and marches down my driveway with ill intent, I doubt that I would "show force" or issue a warning.

My dad was trained for the Vietnam War to shoot VERY accurately from the hip. He's exceptionally good at it to the point he can do trick shooting. I remember as a kid he'd have me toss a BB into the air, and he'd use his old Daisy lever action BB gun fired from the hip and shoot the BB out of the air with another BB. Then there was the Game Duck hunt, which he would sit across the room (about 20 feet) from the 25" old CRT TV we had, and shoot the ducks with the Nintendo blaster from the hip. He often got past level 20. I once asked him why he was trained to fire from the hip, and he told me it was because of jungle training. When on patrol, the enemy could ambush you at any moment, and so it's faster to blow their head off shooting from the hip than it is to shoulder and aim your rifle, which would already be at hip level because nobody can trek through a 110F-120F jungle with a rifle shouldered for hours on end and not become incredibly fatigued. Plus, even if you could, shouldering a rifle is gonna naturally cause some tunnel vision, where as low at the hip, your field of view is more relaxed and wider, giving you greater chance of spotting the enemy first. So in short, he said shouldering is great if you have the luxury of time, otherwise you really need to be able to shoot quick and accurately from the hip. A particularly great example of this was in the movie "We Were Soldiers" when the VC guy with glasses rushes Mel Gibson's character with a bayonet from behind. Mel turns, and only has a split second to stop the threat. Puts one through the guy's brain pan from the hip. My dad nodded, and said, "Wow, a Vietnam film that is surprisingly accurate to how we were trained."

During Vietnam the US Army had a program called "Quick Kill" which focused on training troops to hone instinctive fire accuracy. Shooting from the hip was very common in the Pacific in WW2. My dad was in Korea and he was taught hip shooting with the BAR.

Instinctive shooting is a good thing to learn. It should come natural as pointing with your finger. Just practice should advance the skills pretty quick. Being very familiar with a gun also helps.
