Original version of Gunblade NY was released in 1996. Wii version of Gunblade NY as "Gunblade NY & LA Machineguns Arcade Hits Pack" was released in August 2010.

in addition to the billboard substitutions, the game was tweaked out of sensitivity in a post 9/11 society (i.e. the NYPD officers in the 2nd stage of the Easy Course were altered to look more like cab drivers, and their cars were changed from blue to yellow, the UN Building not blowing up in the 3rd stage of the Easy Course, and the removal of the World Trade Center in the first stage of the Hard Course).

I get why Sega took out all of the advertisements from the original game... but why, oh why, do they have to "give in to the terrorists" and remove the brief World Trade Center shots?

It's because of 9/11. Many games released before 2001 that contained the World Trade Center were outright removed or altered in re-releases to avoid any sensitivity issues to 9/11 victims and American players

Yeah, I was playing it tonight and noticed the Wii version of GunbladeNY doesn't have as good texture mapping as the arcade original. LA Machineguns though looked fine.

Model 2 arcade hardware is difficult to emulate so many issues like graphic issues were prone to happen. Although the PC's Model 2 Emulator looks better, it still has texture issues
