As long as we don't suffer a threat like this in the upcoming year....

Man oh man, this brings back memories. The biggest reason I always spent the hefty 4 tokens to play this was because the cabinet was so awesome. The explosions made everything shake, the screen gave the visuals something peculiar and I can't quite describe it. Playing it on a Wii I think, serves it no justice although it's still fun :D
@Mendosa6668 жыл бұрын
+eggydrums I'm jealous... I never had any fun playing this game since the only one I had access to was always broken. The damn movie theater that owned it was really lazy with maintaining their arcade games except for Time Crisis 3 since that game racked in a lot of players.

***** I feel ya. I wonder why so many arcade workers are so lazy
@Mendosa6668 жыл бұрын
eggydrums I dunno.. But it sure as hell ruined a lot of good experiences for me as a child. Especially with some of the more obscure lightgun shooters; I'm sure you know the frustration of playing one of those games when a certain corner of the screen just doesn't register for whatever reason..

I remember playing this at an arcade --- the only shooting game I'll ever play to this day. They took it away though, and I miss it :( I agree with the below comments - much more realistic feel when you have that vibrating floor to stand on. If your local arcade offers it, get a "time card" (unlimited credits for a certain amount of time, that way you're not using up so many credits)! Works great!

Used to love this and look out for it at every arcade, only one or two seemed to have it though. So much cooler having a heavy machine gun to manhandle rather than just a little lightgun pistol!

15:28 and there's the obligatory Sonic Adventure advertisement in the game, with Gunblade having a ad for Sonic & the Black Knight on one of the buildings
@jasonmartinez51164 жыл бұрын
That was done to avoid copyright and trademark issues, as Sega's use of the license for Coca Cola licensing presumably expired at the time. In the original arcade version of Gunblade NY, the first stage on the Easy route had a Coca Cola "Enjoy Coke" advertisement. LA Machineguns also had a Coca Cola advertisement/building to the left of the Sega World building that was removed completely on the Wii version. Ironically, the restaurants that parody Denny's and McDonald's are still in tact.

I remember playing this in the arcade. The game has this magical tendency to rob you entirely of quarters before you realize it. ROM's a pretty cool enemy to face, I like the whole modular design of their machinery and networked intelligence systems. And besides, if they won, it's L.A., so it's not like anything of value was lost...

Also, does anyone else remember the arcade version giving you four lives instead of three for each credit? The version I played did.

Meanwhile, you can try Dead Space Extraction, which discourages the act of shooting the same location multiple times. I eagerly look forward to seeing the ultimate technique for playing Dead Space Extraction.
