Hi good morning I noticed that you didn't paint the piece with the airbrush, using the Tamiya panel liner what do you use to clean the unpainted plastic? I'm new to modeling and I'm afraid of ruining the plastics since they say the Tamiya panel is aggressive on the plastic…..

Trust me but I heavily discourage tamiya panel lining on bare plastic this stuff ate my hg calibarn up it actually crumbled right in my hands. try to top coat it with something like mr hobby to protect it also remember if your using matte spray cover the clear parts

Hello, just started panel lining and would want to know what is better between felt tip markers and pour types? Currently using marker since I am a bit afraid about the plastic eating problem hahaha

Hi bro😊it just depends on our use as a builder/modeller.. it doesn't matter if it's a marker or a pour type panel line..both have advantages and disadvantages..first of all markers are good for lines or detailing that have large gaps but it is very difficult for small detailing..for pour type it is very good for small and many detail spaces on the surface..talking about it can damage the plastic, it's actually not that worrying as long as we use it correctly and don't spill a lot on the plastic surface

Yeah you need to wait until the panel lner dry first around 5-8 minutes depend on what kind of panel liner you use..(tamiya - 5 minutes its enough) (mr hobby - 10 minutes)

Not really. I panel line over bare plastic all the time and I've only had one piece break on me in 40+ kits. You only really have to worry about the plastic cracking when the fluid seeps into the gap between 2 pieces. The solvent within the panel liner can't evaporate, seeps into the plastic and weakens it. In my case, I forgot to cement the 2 upper arm pieces for the HG Beguir-Beu and it went into the gap. It all worked out in the end though since the part that broke was fixed and sanded to perfection.

@@loiedonn4192 if you using matt(marker)yes it might be unblance..but if you using spray can or airbrush it will be nice..or maybe you can try with brush if you use the tc marker..I’ve tried it before with mr hobby matt top coat marker but with hand brush coz if I apply it directly from the marker nib it look unbalance

1.Am I teach/show wrong step in the video? - no..I’m not teaching or showing anything wrong in this video..I’m just showing my own process in panel lining & applying a decal for the model kit and carefully doing the process without any damage 2.Is the panel liner will damage the plastic? - it won’t damage the plastic if you do it carefully(even the model kit still doin just fine until today😊..no crack no damage at all) 3.should we apply clear coat before apply the panel liner? - we can apply it you want to avoid the crack(if you are the type of person who works with smudges or you afraid if the plastic will crack)

I wish I could like this kit more but the wonky proportions kinda make it hard to get him into good poses. And because of the weird way the feet are built with the ankle being on a free hinge with the toe and heel being on swivels, proper balance is kind of a chore unless you have a compatible stand.

Amazing work. I’m fairly new to this and about to do my first build with water slide decals. How necessary is the mark setter and mark softer? I haven’t used water slide decals in over 35 years and I just remember using water and having terrible results.

Third party decals like Delpi stick pretty well without setter in my experience, but doesn’t hurt to have. Softer works really well for decals going around curves or into recessed areas, and that’s something you apply only once you’re satisfied with decal placement because it will practically melt your decal in place 😅

Ig you could try using less of the enamel thinner/ lighter fluid/ cleaning solution, have it just damp enough to remove excess, but not so wet it seeps into the panel lines themselves

I'm actually building this kit now and the stickers on this thing are the worst. I got the two red and yellow stickers for the shoulders stuck together trying to get them off the sheet, so I had to toss em since I couldn't separate them, and then I Lost one of the tiny stickers that go on the shoulder because they're so damn small, so now no matter what my kid is going to look wrong when I put it together 🫠
