Gundam Build Fighters is still the best in the Build series. This show had heart. Sure, it might've been just a toy commercial, but the way it looked, sounded, and felt, it was much more than that. Dunno what happened to the sequels though. It just lost all the fire the original had.

I will debate the "just a toy commercial " claim as i see it more as a hobby promotion .. showing what can be done with some cardboard, plastic, and metal bits to make something truely unique

Tbf, no other Build show has really tried to. Build Fighters is at its core a sports anime. Try might seem close as it's sequel, but it's not even trying (ha) to hide the fact that it's a shonen battle anime. Divers is hard to pin down, partially because it hardly knows what IT wants to be, while it's sequel, ReRise, is a thinly veiled early-2000s isekai.

Old comment, but might as well answer. You just need to know the bare basics of Gundam, but you need to watch pretty much everything to get all the references, Easter eggs and gags. Without previous series under your belt it is a vanilla ice cream cone. With it is one of those big sundaes.

problem would be the cost for anyone outside of Japan. not only would the gunpla battle units be super expensive, do you know how much it can cost to make custom gunpla like that? especially when they get thrashed every battle.

i would think that it would be come very popular and more stores would start selling model kits so the price would stay the same and damage lvl A is only used for championships not for casual play so cost i dont think would be much of a issue it would probably stay at the same price it is now, along with more custom parts probably becoming available for individual buy

sylermran there's also the number 1 problem. Policaps. The things only last so long before they break or ware out. It's only harder on the policaps now because there are always going to be people aiming for joints.

+sylermran damage would still be a problem. say you use the shoulder armor from one kit on the body of another and your shoulder armor gets a beam saber rammed through it. you have to buy a complete second kit to get one piece.
