Using GN Daggers instead of just using the rifle built in to the sword seems counter intuitive to me.

Because it was mentioned that Setsuna suck at aiming with the rifle but super accurate when he throws the daggers

Well yes but its a melee focus suit so it have superb melee and hits like a truck but needs support fire from far away sorta like pale rider or gm sniper 2 ( pale rider for healing and gm sniper for range )

It's just a balancing thing. Can't have a super strong melee focus also have really good range attacks.
