@@spartana1116 Age did preform poorly, and to a lesser extent, IBO did too. At least in comparison to something like Build Fighters. However, how successful something is is a poor indicator of its actual quality. Which is a real shame. Though I do suppose it comes down to taste ultimately. I hate Build with a burning passion and think its existence is a betrayal of the core identity of Gundam, and think IBO is a near unparalleled triumph of storytelling.

@kirb vibin Whoa, hold up there, buddy. I mean, I appreciate the novella you wrote me, but there are some key things about all that that need some addressing. First off, I never said build was bad. No, in fact, I think it has its merits, its well animated, and fun. But being a spin -off doesn't excuse it from betraying the core Gundam identity, something that other spin-offs had no problem adapting in meaningful ways. Just because I hated it quite passionately doesn't mean the work is completely and irredeemably bad, and that is ultimately just my experience with the show. I have no problem with anyone liking whatever they want, but if they are going to talk about it, to be able to acknowledge when a work is bad. I, for example, love Sonic 2006. Is it a bad video game? Absolutely, and I will tell everyone that it is an irredeemable dumpster fire that somehow regressed the entire Sonic forumla set by the Adventure games before it, regardless of my own enjoyment of the title. Everyone is allowed to like what they want, and I encourage it. But Build, particularly the original, was not good, and anyone who really can take a step back and observe it can tell you as much. G Gundam is also bad, debatably worse. But I enjoyed it. Does it make it less bad? No, absolutely not. Re:Rise, then, did what Build utterly failed to do, and at least tried to adapt some of the core Gundam design philosophy. But this does not mean you can't like it, that you can't enjoy it, or that it can't get you into the series. Wing was my first Gundam, and I thought it was the coolest stuff at the time, and I think its aged like rotten milk now that I have the ability to objectively look at storytelling. Secondly, if you think that the overwhelming success of the Gunpla market and the Build series has no effect on the franchise as a whole, well, you just couldn't be more wrong, and if you can't plainly see that, I just don't know what to tell you. Sunrise is a company, like any other, and they will, unfailingly, go where the money is. Its a tad more complex then that, of course, and you have the unflinching storytelling of those like Tomino who, if you've listen to them talk, have an adamant vision of the Gundam narrative that often runs counter to that of the wishes of Sunrise as a whole. I won't say that Build has HURT the franchise as a whole. But to say that it CAN'T is not correct in the slightest. If anything, the success of Build give it more weight on the forward creative progress then most. Has the money helped fund other projects? Almost certainly, yes. It is, as you said, something of a monkey's paw. But I don't hate the existence of Build, nor begrudge it its success. I merely hate its design. And though, as someone with opposed opinions would likely disagree, it is not my intent to gatekeep or grandstand. I'm no elitists, just a passionate consumer of storytelling. These are my opinions, and though if you ask me, I will for certain direct you to the works I personally think are the best and I will, for certain, speak ill of the works I personally think deserve it.

The problem as Bandai Namco is aware of about Urdr Hunt is that the tone of this is lighter compared to IBO, sure there are still deaths, sure there is still political fuckery, but less overall. Which might alienate the fanbase. Venus is ignored by Gjallahorn so there's less corrupt officials going after it but it is raided by bandits on a regular basis cause no protection from Gjallahorn making it a slightly favorable target than Mars. But Mars has better resources.

His name is Wolfurio. They probably made him look like Akatsuki for the service, but this takes place in between seasons 1 and 2, so Akatsuki wasn't even conceived yet. But the developers made Wolfurio look more innocent compared to Mika because his personality is more lighthearted
