His painting his almost better than mine and I been doing this for 24 yrs. It actually made him get into art and the boy is simply amazing. When he was very young he had fine motorcontol issues, and I'm a fighting game fan so I got him on street fighter kof13 and tekken7 doing combos. It’s just supposed to be an allusion to the Germans vs the Soviets and Japanese vs the Americans. The Zaku are the German Tanks and Japanese carrier aircraft and the Gundams are the Soviet Tanks and American carrier aircraft. Reason Zeon keeps making mobile armors and crazy super weapons is because of Hitler. Reason they have no pilots is same reason Japan couldn’t replace pilots after battles like the Philippine sea and started doing Kamikaze attacks. The whole start off with big gains but grind down into a stalemate before being overwhelmed playbook zeon uses is just Germany and Japan. The leadership had to reflect the role and the role doesn’t have the best examples of leadership for a source.

No way Ral was loyal to the Zabis, he just still fought for Zeon.

Sorry but this video is completely inaccurate because is based solely on anime versions like Gundam origin which has so may changes to the original material that is closer to a redcon. first of all Zeon Daikum only wanted peace by diplomatic means, the Zabi family is the one advocating for war, Degwin Zabi comes up with an illegal idea to bypass the economic blockade from earth giving green light to modify a civilian jet for military means and starting the tensions. Important pieces of info like this are spread out on mangas and many old video games, some of them never translated from japanese.

The scarcity of materials make you focus on novel things and that bring us to better tank etc. Should have focused on better gigantic robot. I mean if Germany at the time is destined to fall anyway due to it's aggresivity made too many enemies, better to fall in style. Imagine Hitler's last moment is not suicide in some unknown bunker in the middle of God Knows Where, but instead in the Frontline, piloting a Gigantic Nazi styled Mecha, and it took everything that the Allied force had just to bring him down, and the battle had to last for days and nights non stop, until Hitler or the Mecha gave in, either from fatigue or from out of supplies for the Mecha. Now that's a lass boss Battle that 200% had to be written down in history for every seconds of the event.

@19:44 Maybe a weapon system like the mobile suit would be useful in space... On earth. No even with the creation of minvosky particles, Countries would not risk the chance of thermal nuclear explosions of a mobile suit in battle. Also for the same reason that the Rattay tank wasn't created. Bombers would have a field day attacking a target that big. so would drones and helicopters and jets. If Shiro can disable a Zaku with a handheld anti-tank rocket, What do you think hellfire missiles and other weapons will do to a Zaku. A 60-foot tall robot only going 50 mph ( 5mph less than an Abrams tank I'll add.) Mobile suits would get decimated. I can only see select fields of operation where they would work. Mainly space. On earth. Mobile suits are gonna get overwhelmed by tanks, gunships, and jets, not to mention drones and bombers doing laser-guided strikes. Not sure if Minvosky particles interfere with laser-guided weapons. Also, minvosky particles have to be in the air to affect anything. As we saw the mobile armor conducting long-range strikes while unit 2 was being stolen in Stardust Memory. So if no minvosky particles you're going to get hit with cruise missiles. But again the risk of nuclear detonation is enough to make them not practical. Love Gundam though. Smaller exo suits, I can see being a thing possibly.
@colinbielat85583 ай бұрын
Laserguided munitions would be susceptible to minosky particles. Minosky particles disrupt elecomagnetic radiation and interferes with electronic circuitry. Not to mention they also create a visible haze due to interfering with visible light. You can harden circuitry to protect against minosky particles but you would only do that stuff making use of minosky fusion reactors, otherwise it is to costly. That is why wire guided equipment was deployed and newtypes were do prized, they could bypass the usual restrictions of minosky particles by using amplified brain waves.

Now just imagine if they took all of these stories, and did a "Mobile Suit Gundam: One Year War - Master Report" - Full remake by the same people and at the same quality as Gundam Unicorn. incorporating the various MSV, working the side stories into a wider narrative. The way I imagine it is actually like lot like what you did here but on a much grander scale, framed as an in-universe retelling of events much later after the fact - and that detail could also serve as an excuse for the inevitable discrepancies that would occur. God, I can dream. More on point, this was a lot of fun, but I really do wish you'd talked a little bit about just the immediate aftermath of the war - what happened to Side 3, how it become the puppet state that was the Republic of Zeon, that sort of thing.

This is very interesting that the series does so much leg work to justify mechs but then puts them in space where it makes the Least sense. Also the armaments are pretty mild, like gun tank is the same fire power as two abrams and a couple of dudes with javelins. The unfortunate reality of the javelin is that any and all armor vehicles are almost obsolete. “But the magic particle prevents lock on” She direct fire just fine, laser guide it even from miles out or from a Satellite. The javelin ideally auto guides itself to hit the top of the tank where the armor is the weakest or the head of the mech. The armor penetration is stupid high and it’s specifically designed to counter reactive armor, the best defense available today. We can’t have cool stuff because the military industrial complex put the power of god in a disposable tube you control with an iPad. This future sucks.

personal opnion but also figured Gundam Seed was close second to showing opposing sides' leaderships being both corrupt and even genocidal as they pushed the front line soldiers to fight to the death, while for the most part those same leaders stayed far away from the battlefield though at some point karma does get them. Also Gundam Seed did a decent job at showing both armies having soldiers who weren't homicidal toward the other side but were fighting to either prevent further tragedies or protect their friends and families. But thinks is a bit clear Gundam Seed is just copying a lot from the original series....like a lot of it. though not that big of a fan of Destiny, that one was pretty dumb.
@Slifer296 ай бұрын
I agree with you Seed really showed the extreme that both sides would go to in order to win the war initially both sides simply wanted to defeat the other, but as the series progressed moderates were being phased out by the radicals who had genocidal intentions against one another in the beginning Siegel Clyne was a moderate within the PLANT government and the Eurasian Federation were more so the voices reason in the alliance as they simply wanted just the defeat of the PLANTS This is why during the battle of JOSH-A the Atlantic Federation had discreetly snuck away, their soldiers while the base was primarily defended by those from the Eurasian Federation, and after using the cyclops system, this insured that there would be a shift in the power balance for the Atlantic Federation to step in and with them being a majority they could shift their views even concurrently in the PLANTS when Patrick Zala won the election He was pushing for the destruction of naturals because at that point, it was no longer a war of conquest. It was now a war of extermination.

As far as the actual content of your video and how well you tracked the events of the war and then explaining what was happening with Bandai saying "we need more toys" and other production facts, you did very well. I do think you need a little polish here and there with your presentation but expect that to come with time. That being said of lot of your humor just lands a little too low brow at times. Like you did a great little bit where you bashed on Seed but it got to the point to where I was wondering if I needed to change vids because the joke stuck around for a bit too long for my liking. Then there are little things like saying someone was retarded, when you could have just have easily just said they were fucking stupid or the Mia Khalifa joke was just a whiff for me. But that's a "to taste" thing not going to hit you up too bad on that one. Even though I found that a bit too distateful, you definately won me over when you correctly pointed out that Amuro wasn't going through what people think of when they say PTSD since it takes the symptoms lasting for more than 6 months before it hits the chronic stage and before then its just Onset if not just an exaggerated stress response, which means its reversable with the right change of environment. So good on you for seeing that nuance.

This video aptly shows why i like the ghirens greed games. You can play as a non moronic ghiren! You can decide not to support chars chase of the white base resulting in your little brother garma surviving (also saving many other zeon aces), you can give ramba the Doms wich leads to him actually capturing the white base! You can not support the exam nonsense and loose a valuable newtype pilot for suits that become outdated 1 month ingame time later. You can stop the Experimental unit program to not waste Ace pilots on dead end machines like the hildolfr (no matter how cool it is, its simply not worth loosing an ace over it). You dont need to invest into every stupid MS design Zeons many different manufacturers cook up... ESPECIALLY some of the more goofy mobile armors or amphibean MS. (Though it is beneficial to atleast research their blueprints cause atleast in threat of axis you get one unit defacto for free by only using cash and not valuable resources) Also you can decide not to fire the stupid colony laser and roast your own father so kycillia cant shoot you in the head. Infact, it is a auto loss if you act exactly like ghiren did in the anime. Whenever the game asks you for a decision NEVER EVER take the same decision ghiren took in the anime.. that just shows how colossaly stupid ghiren was.

Sydney is not the capital of Australia, it's Canberra. (At least in real life)

Bold claim about Gundam Lore. It is great, and thick... but have you heard of BattleTech?
@DBWave9419 күн бұрын
BattleTech is far more obscure and convoluted compared to something like Gundam. My buddy and I ended up giving up on it because it made little sense from the outside looking in. The Federation v. Zeon is way easier to understand than a bunch of scattered factions fighting each other for land grabs and other bureaucratic reasons.

@@DBWave94 Yes, BT is deep and confusing at time. Like real war and propaganda. Gundam is much simpler.
