I think the show is okay, but man did it need a punch-up. I dig the MS designs we get here, especially the Gundam. Then again, I'm a massive mark for Gundams in general, so take that for what its worth.

I agree with most of your points besides the stuff about representation. And I also find it ironic that you say you don't care about it but then had a whole segment explaining why you don't like how it's usually used and claiming it's "bumper sticker politics" so obviously you do care about it some sense in that you want all "representation" roles to only be doing that, representing the side in a good light which I concluded from you saying that the lesbian relationship will have you believing lesbian relationships should be abusive which is an insane observation for several reasons. For one, your understanding for why representing happens and what makes good and bad representation doesn't seem to logically follow. When representation is "bad", people will say it didn't work because the representing itself when in reality it's the writing that does it. We can see that this is true by going back to your example. Again, you say the lesbian relationship Miorine and Suletta could be seen as something that depicts all lesbian relationships as abusive and because Suletta herself is often an abusive character. But if this was a straight relationship, the observation of the dynamics of the relationship would be that "it's an abusive relationship" and in fact the idea of the relationship being one that represents other straight relationships wouldn't even come into consideration because we don't view straight relationships as representation, their just relationships. Same goes for if a character is male or white. This kind of representation in media happens all the time so naturally no one will think about it. My point is essentially the idea of critiquing represention for what it is representing because the writing for it is bad is very weird. YOu wouldn't do it for white/straight relationships because you'd be too focused on the actually writing and depiction of said represntion, which is what you should do for minority representation as well, but instead it usually goes more along the lines of "this is bad because gay/other race.

That is why it is P for POST, not I(mmediate)TSD. In this moment, I would call it more "shell shocked" or a cumulative stress reaction. Rest and reset is what Amuro needs, but he can't have that till they are safe.

This was awesome and a good way to rewatch without having to rewatch a number of different series for a month or three depending on work. Great work.

It as an astoundingly powerful opening for the OG Gundam 0079 to open on narration explaining, as you said, that *half of the entire human race had died* over the course of a year-long war, and so now let's get to our story. As friends pointed out to me, people who worked on that show very much could have been alive during and had memories of World War 2, and assuredly its aftermath. They knew apocalyptic wars better than most of us now possibly could, and may that remain so.

Ummm… I like Naruto (mostly because of nostalgia; it got me into anime) and despise SEED and its timeline.

The two people in charge of the project, Mitsuo Fukuda and Chiaki Morosawa, had major beefs with many of the seiyuus but the beef between Morosawa and Cagalli’s seiyuu, Naomi Shindo, led to Cagalli’s character assassination that begin in SEED and reached it’s ultimate form in Destiny.

You know a Gundam show slaps when the mobile suits themselves end up in our minds as characters. While all of the Wing mechs are characters, Tallgeese is in a league of it's own. Not only does it look vastly different to most other Mobile Suits across the Gundam universe, but it has a very unique energy it brings just by it's presence. It is almost a situational chameleon, and who the menace is directed at can change based entirely on the Pilot's state of mind. Zechs wants to fight heero? Tallgeese is an arrogant fencer. Treize is commanding an army? Tallgeese is a regal undefeated general, fighting from the front. Miliardo is fighting the Barton Foundation? It is the sword and shield of the Earth. In fact, I think that is why the plain white paint job is the best. It is almost like it is trying to say it is a "blank canvass" for it's pilot. Tallgeese is the best Not-a-Gundam Gundam. Fight me.

Straight up: Gundam Seed in general was trash. I genuinely don't understand why it is so popular in Japan. The mobile suit designs are uninspired. The writing is uninspired. The art style is.....something. The music was also boring. A good sound track can make a show, even if you don't realize it.

Wing is my fav Gundam anime of all time. It's so freakin great. Endless Waltz is a beautiful epilogue People that hate on this show tend to love gundam shows that are objectively worse so their opinions are invalid

this great and your reviews have been fun compared to some others. So this was a nice find. I will admit, in the beginning I thought Utena and sort of tuned out. I like binge watching Gundam when it all has aired so seeing it go away from it was cool. Though it might be a different introductionn to the series, I don't care about a relationship being there or presented... just the shipping that gets out of control and those people get insane in most cases.

Well, now I know not to watch this show. I don't really care too much about continuity, but I've had enough Zeon apologia for a lifetime after watching Unicorn. I understand anti-federation stories existing, but I really think those are best told later in the timeline- if you discount Unicorn, the Earth Federation was clearly getting worse with almost every installment. Especially by Hathaway, where Zeon no longer exists.
