Nice to get a used gun that hasn't been re-designed, accursed or otherwise improved by some budding John Browning rival. I like the simplicity and its gotta be lightweight - while I love the look of squirrel guns & long rifles, they are a pain to carry in the woods and a pain to fit the in laundry tub for a good cleaning. The Blazer looks like the ticket. Thanks for posting.

They head breechplug recalls i believe. A friend of mine bought 1 yrs ago that ended up being recalled...not sure if they put a new plug or replaced barrel..... Was long time ago

GunGeek needs to look on-line for the recall. The Serial Number gives the in-line CVA models recalled. ... It's an easy process, and obviously should be done.

@@JohnSmith-hm7eh im not sure that theyd still have that recall. The model would been discontinued long ago and a replacement parts/pieces likely discontinued long ago as well. But never hurts to try

@@JohnSmith-hm7eh in 1997 they implemented a voluntary recall for several Muzzeloaders ( inlines ) to not fire them.. If serial # ends in a 95 or a 96... I guess that would be a start...if it doesnt have a serial # as such.. My understanding is its not incl within that recall from 1997.

RodVint... GunGeek is a smart guy. Thanks to your warning, the Great GunGeek will probably go cross-eyed permanently, from watching the butt end of the barrel, while pulling the trigger on the CVA rifle.

At least you know there was a recall for some reason. But, Idk if you could get CVA to honor it being that it has been out of production so long. It looks like a budget priced No thrills beginners rifle for someone that wants to try hunting with a black powder rifle before they go spend more money. as you said, it would be nice knowing what the recall was all about before you trust and shoot it. - Dave

Threads are 6mmx.75mm if metric.. 1/4×28mm is more common. Nipples. My kentucky rifle from italy is like that. Id say you may be gd for sabots and conicals...prob a faster twist rate. . I recall my buddies was like a 1:36 .. He was using the hornady sabots in his..it did shoot ok... Wasnt a sniper rifle...but it worked.
