A lot has changed since my last flight in a KC-135-A (1980) and some stayed the same. Thanks for sharing. This old crew chief enjoyed it.

Dash looks a lot different from my days as an Instrument Tech back in the 70’s! Use to work on the J-57 water injection engines on 135A models! I would love to get a ride on one of these newer birds to see all the improvements. Still miss my days of flying for inflight maintenance and TDY’s around the world. The 135’s are a workhorse that is hard to beat. ❤

This aircraft is not a full service gas station. In my day when we pulled in for gas, one person gassed us up, another checked the air pressure on all four tires, another raised the hood and checked the water in the radiator, and another cleaned the windshield. I don't see anyone doing that during refueling, and yes, I'm being facetious.

Wow. There were no "V1", "Rotate", or "V2" calls during takeoff, strange. And I thought the Air Force pilots went by the book. Tony 59-year-old Air Force VET 🇺🇸

I was actually wondering about this. I was watching a video earlier with the 135, I believe it was also at a redflag event, and when they were taxiing they called out what the V-Speeds are. I don't think that video had them taking off so I wouldn't know if they called it or not.

135 boom here. Once our pilots set the power, they practically dont ever have to worry about it. They only occasionally make power changes if they're too fast or too slow. Controlling the aircraft is the priority. After the power pull there is 0 need to mess with those throttles except in the case of a go around or TnG.

I flew as an F/E on C-130E/H/DC, C-141A/B, & KC-10's in my 30yrs in the Air Force. Pilots always had a hand on the throttles for both T/O & landings. Weird!! Excellent video, though. Brings back memories, especially flying exercises like Red Flag, Brim Frost, Green Flag, etc.
