I agree. I don’t know the exact width of that locking piece, but this could potentially let you get another 10lb plate on each side since it looks thinner than a regular collar plus it could save some time when swapping weights.

Hi! We are making dumbbells as we speak, first a 25mm sleeve type (1" plate holes) and later an Olympic (50mm) variant, we just have to do more testing to ensure pristine quality!

They have done extensive testing, with over 14,000 drops and up to 320kg: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n6KxoWejqbKEo5o. The test is shown at 0:40, but it is worth to watch the whole clip. I have tested the bar myself and it is super smooth to use. The quality and feel is just like the high end Eleiko bars they have in most gyms in Norway.

@@scarrington they're literally not comparable. The craftsmanship on this is equal to that of a Kabuki bar. Where the rubber meets the road is knurling, and I've yet to use a Rogue bar that has knurling that last the test of time. They're sharp out of the box, but you have to pay a lot to get one made out of actually decent steel.

And in that case, if you care to know for trivia's sake, I can say that it's pronounced either "Goong-neer" or "Gong-neer" with the R rolling at the tip of your tongue or sharply in the back of your throat (we have two Rs), depending on dialect. 😅

This bar has a tensile strength of 216KPSI It’s 28m in diameter Has dual knurl & Weighs 20KG With a lifetime warranty It presently cost $719 + free shipping Rogue has a bar that’s comparable for $545 It’s not that much expensive. One is made with chrome while the other (Rogue) is coated in Chrome only Big Deal. They both have a lifetime warranty. And when was the last time I had a problem with inferior made bars in a home gym or personal training studio? Never

Hi Danny, this was one of our ideas in the beginning, but like Chrontard says, there are so many variants of shafts. Also, we want to make sure that every bar has a durability we can put our name on, and that leaves only a very few bar manufacturers (Eleiko, Kabuki etc.)

They need to come up with a collar that sits at the end of a sleeve. So we can max out a sleeve with actual plates. That would be revolutionary. It's like 5 bumpers and a collar.

My idea would be a T plate that screws into the end cap, with ball bearing in the end of the screw to stabilise, then a small remote control to release the ball bearing to unscrew and additional headless bolt to put in as to not compromise bar strength

So many people complaining but i honestly love this idea and would love a barbell like this even with its terrible price tag. And those who say its better to buy collars well the best collars cost 40 or more with heavy priced shipping less you spend alot of money and the cheaper collars get broke too often by numbnuts who love throwing them or slamming weights on them. I will iterate I believe this is built more for crossfitters, olympic lifters, or athletes who do multiple compound lifts not so much for bodybuilders, regular gym goers, or powerlifters so I would look at perspective about it.

this bar is pretty cool and they (gungnir) tested it rigorously. the collars were holding like 215kg on their side, tandem deadlift at 500kg, they dropped it from height with alot of weight

These are DUMB. Not only do they never press tight against the plates AS HE SHOWS WHEN RATTLES THE PLATES, but they are not as secure and you're adding small part complexity to one of the only pieces of gym equipment that would otherwise be eternal and indestructible.

A luxury gadget and a disaster for the discs center holes. Just buy an Eleiko Weightlifting Training (or Performance Weightlifting) bar, used or new, it will still serve for your grandchildren's if you use it with a reasonable amount of care.

Looks great but it’s not 100% snug onto the plate. Lots of clanking/noise and the collar most likely will damage the metal on the plate over time of dropping regularly.

If you train at home, alone, with no power rack and the safeties in the right level DON'T use this bar for benching. Even without the collars the weights don't slide of easily and that's a recipe for bad things to happen. I cannot stress this point enough...

Concerning you climbing on top squat rack Why take unnecessary risks cause you never know because if you fell it could be devastating to you and others who rely on you.
