Great work Also fun fact: the M1IP was made as a stop gap armor upgrade in response to the new Soviet sabot rounds like 3BM32 And in-game this does show as at longer ranges 3BM32 will not penetrate the front armor of the M1IP unlike the base m1 Of course since it's a stop gap upgrade it has its limits. In close range engagements 3BM32 will still go to through the armor array with ease

It's amazing how well GHPC simulates ballistics like that. One of the many reasons to love it! Thanks for the info Robin, always appreciate seeing you in the comment section!

12:45 might be a bit late to answer that question, but it's simply a difference in doctrin. NATO tanks like the M1 or the Leopards were made to defend against a soviet invasion. The Smoke canisters on those tanks are therefore made to cover a retreat. That's why the smoke forms a halve circle around the tank. Also the Commander launches the smoke which also shows that it's meant to protect and cover the tank. Soviet tanks, on the other hand, are meant for more aggressive offensive actions. The smoke is therefore launched by the gunner instead of the commander, which shows that the soviets see smoke as a weapon and not protection. Soviet smoke canisters, therefore, form a straight line in front of the Tank really far away in order to cover an advance and not a retreat! Launching the smoke just a few meters from the tank wouldn't cover a advance for very long as the tank quickly drives through the smoke. I'm usually not very good at explaining things so I hope it was somewhat understandable. Keep up the great work!

Makes perfect sense, thanks so much for your information! Do you think the Soviet smoke is accurately represented in GHPC? Because I tend to find it quite useless to be honest. It launches really far away but only forms a relatively small smoke screen and if you turn left or right a little bit, you'll miss the screen entirely.

@@akkapamagaming to be honest, I'm not entirely sure how accurate it really is. The general idea and implementation definitely is there but even the smoke from the M1 doesn't appear to be entirely realistic. When looking at real videos, the smoke is a lot denser and also seems to last longer. The Problem is that comparing it to real videos doesn't tell you a lot since there are probably a number of different smoke canisters that all have been improved over the years, so differences are to be expected. So like I said, I can't tell you for certain if it's accurate or not but I think there's definitely room for improvement! Thank you so much for taking the time to read all the comments!

Russian smoke is intended to be used on the advance in their doctrine that is why it shoots ahead of the armored vehicles. It was supposed to be used on the move and give time to develop. American smoke is used defensively so its close range deployment.

1:45 in game even with M855 the M68A1 in ghpc will not penetrate the T-72M1s turret with it's KVARTZ composite at long range and T-72 began to be fitted with these turrets as early as dec 1975. and when you also considered stuff like the T-80U was already developed entered service in 1985 with it's kontact-5 ERA wacth forced nato nations like the US to develop new 120MM ammo to counter it like M829A2. the fear of the 105mm not able to kill newer gen soviet MBTs seems justified
@akkapamagaming
@akkapamagaming 9 ай бұрын
Hey Samar! Yeah, it was absolutely justified. And then 120mm became a long time NATO standart for many tanks after that, even to this day! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment, Samar!

Howdy! Soviet tanks use smoke grenades in the offensive role. This is why they launch smoke toward the enemy. Its is meant to disrupt the enemy line of sight and help mask the assaulting soviet tanks. Most affective when soviet armor is in mass assault. So the game is accurate in portraying this.👍

Howdy! Very soon I hope, probably end of next week! And thanks for the idea, Alberto! I've been thinking about doing that, however I stayed away from it because I felt like the missions in the campaign tend to become quite repetative. But I'll give it another think. Cheers!

This game needs all the crew stations with working controls. As expensive as it is I'm going to buy Steel Beasts Pro as this game is not a tank sim.
@harveyknguyen
@harveyknguyen Ай бұрын
you should, GHPC isn't designed to be a full-fidelity sim, it's intended to be an approachable and to an extent "gamified" tank sim (plus the devs don't have the time, budget, or experience in Unity to make interiors)

enemies look dumb af, do not engage and drive away with their backs facing your Tank, sadly i wanted to like this game but every footage i see shows me just how boring the enemies are - sitting ducks by best and completely morons in worst case. Everyone says they have aimbot but yet ive to see one single clip where they even hit ANY target they engage... idk is this a false feeling because i see only tank aces youtuber by chance hahaha
@akkapamagaming

Well, why don't you try it out? It's not expensive and you can easily return a game on Steam if you don't like it. I can assure you, the first few times I played GHPC, I got f'd up. The AI hardly ever misses. The trick is to not allow them to shoot. And if they do shoot, you better have a back-up plan ready to deal with that.

I dont know this dude geeking. I raged quite a few times on the Instant Action Bradley mission they arent that braindead at all. Enemies sometimes will actively hunt for you when you are playing way too reserved. Their reaction times are realistic and they will trial and error until they zero on you and they will not miss.
