Just to be clarify, this taunt is for the "Journey to the East" thematic contest, also sounds are just a placeholder and is probably going to change if the update even gets implemented. Hopefully that makes things easier to understand.

Avi Yes there is, but introducing a taunt for a themed update makes more sense than a taunt made for just a hat.

goody2shoos I wasn't implying that the taunt was made for the hat though. Just wanted to point out that while it isn't fitting for Scout to play bongos, he wears a rice hat. Then again, I just found out that said rice hat is all-class, it's just more commonly seen on scouts.

I don't know if it's part of the instrument's sound that was recorded, but there seems to be an audio buzz in at the end. Imo, I don't really see the appeal of this taunt. It doesn't fit Scout's character and I don't see people wanting to use this for fun as the bongos are a more unique looping taunt.

if it gets added, there needs to be a mod that replaces the gong with a stop sign, and the mallet would be replaced with a sign that says get out. that is my one true wish.

It's not a bad taunt, it's well animated and smooth, however the sound is just really bad quality and the idea is kinda meh. The sound problem shouldn't be a big deal since replacing with a new sound would be rather easy, no?

I'm sorry, this is really underwhelming. I'm not one of those people who demands everything in taunts "SHUD BE ALL CLASS SHUD BE LOOPING" etc. but this is kinda weird, it doesn't even really fit the scout at all? I know tf2 hasn't really been sticking to the most strict of characterization with these sorts of things but, why does the scout, a new-england tough guy need a gong? it doesn't even make for a good actual 'taunt' like, I think taunts are either made just to be fun little things to play with and enjoy with team mates, or as actual taunts, meant to demean a fallen foe in their death cam, but I don't see how this could even be the latter. 'Oh jeez how embarrassing, he killed me and then used a gong over my corpse' doesn't really work does it? Again, I don't think I'm being too unfair here, I just don't believe this taunt works into the game.
