Gunnerside & Keld, Yorkshire Dales - 16 May 2015

A 12.5 mile round trip from Gunnerside in Swaledale, Yorkshire Dales. The walk first follows the River Swale to Muker then alongside Kisdon Hill to Kisdon Force waterfall before reaching Keld. From here, the route continues on to Wain Wath Force before returning along the Swale passing Catrake Force and Crackpot Hall. At Swinner Gill, the route follows this over several waterfalls and through it's gorge to the Coast to Coast way, returning over Gunnerside Moor back to the start.

Your Timing could not be better Gary. I promised my wife a couple of nights in a Yurt in Keld this June after she saw me in one last year while doing the C2C. She wanted to know what the area was like (she love waterfalls) you have just shown her and she is well excited now. Thanks for sharing.

I've been searching for a new route in the Yorkshire Dales and this is it! Mates and I were planning on Tryfan in Wales, but weather not looking too good for this coming Saturday, so we decided to head elsewhere. We're taking full packs and wild camping for the night (training for our upcoming adventure to Ben Macdui in a months time). So glad you have posted this video, I echo Jim Powells comment, your timing could not have been better. Really enjoy your vids, keep them coming sir :)

Myself & two of my sons did this on Saturday 22nd June 2019, one aged 27, the other aged 9 ! We did it the opposite direction but along the stream from Gunnerside upto Braithewaite Mine then across the top towards Keld and back around towards Muker then Gunnerside, we knew it was going to be tough and it was but worth every step, this has to be some of the most stunning landscape in Yorkshire, the scared hillsides from the mining past to the beauty of the meadows, we are back up there this Saturday to explore even more, this video is superb, thanks for sharing this, I have loved the Dales all my life but this area now has too be the best, just awesome! Thank you ;)
