Are the blades that came with the kit the same as original blades or mulching blades. I'm asking because I just bought the 726x this past weekend and I'm waiting to pick it up after the mulching kit is installed. I just want to make sure I get the right replacement blades. Thanks.

Mine had a different bend in the blades than the originals. They should give you back an original set of blades after the install.

Yes absolutely. They are going to receive those parts from Kubota already installed. They are yours. I would insist on it.

What did that side discharge baffle do, it was such a small piece and I didn’t get a good look how it was mounted?

All it does is direct grass out the discharge port / exit path. When adding the mulch set you don’t need it anymore since the curved piece on that side fills the whole circle. No grass exit port anymore.

@@ApacheRanch I just bought a brand new one with the 42 inch cut. I had the dealer install this before they delivered it and I don’t know if I should try to convert it back because in thick grass it seems to suck it all up into the deck and it gets caked in there and when I get to my driveway it blows it load like a teenager on prom night. Maybe if I put regular blades on it might solve the problem.

Well I’m in Texas so wet grass really isn’t a thing here. If I didn’t have the mulch kit it would be a dust tornado each time I mowed. I’d recommend keeping it - so many benefits for the lawn. Just shut down the blades over the grass on occasion to let it burp out. That might stop prom night somewhat. Good luck!!

I really like it. It's been a very hot and dry summer here in central Texas, and when I was mowing it was like a hurricane of dust and crap blowing around and covering me in crud. My main reason to switch on the mulch kit is that my other zero-turn mower (smaller Gravely with similar mulch kit) doesn't have nearly the amount of dust swirling as the Kubota. It keeps all the cuttings under the deck and you drive away. This kit really reduced that dust coming up on the Kubota as well. I have to mow a lot of tall weeds/shrubs/debris in these pastures and I was worried about it getting jammed up underneath, but that has not been an issue at all. The Kubota just grinds everything up and you leave no trace behind. Should have put this kit on my Kubota machine on day 1 in my opinion. It will vaporize your fall leaves I am betting. Well worth it.
