I'm doing this at the moment with the same adapter kit on a 2023 SX XC. Mount winch on adapter plate. Remove two screws from plastic wheel arch cover . Slot winch/adapter in through the side. Remove skid plate so you can instal the three bolts with a straight long extension. BANG! you're done. Also ran the two winch wires through one hole with a rubber grommet, looks neater.

Watching you struggle with putting the mount and winch together from the bottom with ratchet wrenches and small turns made me think the Kawasaki engineers couldn't have been that cruel. I removed the differential bracket, put the whole thing together on the floor (both plates, bracket and winch. I then dropped the whole assembly in there, put the pin through and installed the 4 front bolts. Voila! Actually it was probably the easiest part of the install. Whatever mechanic put the floor trough screws in mine had his drill torqued way too high. It took me nearly an hour to get them out, one simply didn't come out. I wired the dash plug/ remote harness by tapping into the lighter plug. Your video gave me the knowledge I needed to get going, thanks.

where did you hook up the red wire from the switch? you said in the fuse box. Im at that stage as we speak!

Yes - that little red wire needs to be connected to a power source that is enabled/disabled by the key. In my case I used my fuse box (that I added). That fuse box is activated by the wiring behind the cigarette lighter plug. The wiring behind the cigarette lighter is easy to tap into without cutting any wires. See my fuse box install video to see what I used to connect to that.

What is the best tool for removing the plastic pieces that hold on the hood?
