I’ve been waiting to buy a double stacked 45ACP with a decent grip for a while. Hopefully Kimber’s version will be good. I prefer a 4.25 barrel, optics ready, with no light rail for carry.

Do they make this with a threaded barrel?

Your review, “Guns & Ammo Buzz: Double Duty - Kimber 2K11,” led by Editor-in-Chief Mr. Poole, with insights from Handgun Editor Mr. Tarr and Kimber’s Mr. Deger, is both informative and engaging. The depth of analysis provided-especially regarding the platform’s capabilities-is appreciated. However, for those living in restricted states such as New York or Maryland, where magazine capacity is legally limited to 10 rounds, uncertainty remains. If the primary appeal of a 2011 is expanded capacity (e.g., 20+ rounds), what is the practical advantage over a standard steel 1911 when forced to accept a reduced-capacity, thicker polymer-framed pistol? In other words, why transition from a familiar low-capacity steel-frame 1911 to a polymer-frame 2011 limited to only 10 rounds, effectively erasing the platform’s key benefit? Additionally, the purported advantage of reduced recoil over a steel 1911 is taken with a grain of salt here, given that the platform’s defining strengths are so closely tied to capacity. It would be extremely valuable if Mr. Poole could address this critical consideration in a future edition of Guns & Ammo magazine, so that one can better understand the rationale behind such a purchase under these restrictive conditions.

Your request would be an extremely short video, there isn’t an advantage. You’re most welcome sir, lol. Unless you move to a free state 🤷 but if you’re looking for videos on disadvantages to any pistol you need only scroll a short time on KZbin and find someone that cannot afford a higher priced 2011 and I have no doubt you will find all the disadvantages you can possibly hope for, until that KZbinr gets gifted a high end 2011, then they may update their review and contradict their initial opinions 😂

Bro, y'all burned me in the past with your external extractor and shady 1 year warranty. I want Kimber to succeed as an Alabamian, but I've invested enough , and been burned. Why should I risk investing further with Kimber?

Our external extractor on the 2K11 has been tested with at least 150,000 rounds and we have a new limited lifetime warranty.

@@Kimberamerica About time! Kimber has gained a well deserved rep for being over priced, beautiful. on the out side and poorly made and unreliable. I hope this is turning point but I'm not holding my breath. Kimber has lost the trust of many shooter. We would love to see this change. But it is going to take a lot of work and good will from Kimber to gain trust again. KnifeMaker
