That always bugged be that having Franky coming back in the second game after we hear him go splat after Vinnie threw him out of the blimp retconned his death. They couldn't made him like, half zombie or given him chemical burns on his face after he (miraculously) survived the fall in the first game. People straight up thought of the Germans as spawn of the Devil while their equally murderous Soviet allies were off the hook. During the Cold War, the government was right to discriminate against Communist ideals, but the way they did it almost echoed Gestapo tactics, leading American revolutionary thinkers and student protesters to associate this failing system of government with rebelliousness and taking a stand against the “evil” Capitalists!
