I f**king love this song. Any song with Izzy on vocals is kickass!!

@Guns N' Roses Central it's also worth noting that when they played the song live on the UYI tour Slash often played a part of Metallica's 'Welcome Home (Sanitarium)', e.g. on the Tokyo 92 performance you can hear this.
@TheMattc9994 жыл бұрын
Danny Crash actually it's Creeping Death, not Sanitarium. I know, I've watched it probably 500 times 😋

As always, thanks for taking the time to do these videos. It would have been good to hear “what the song was about”... we heard about the arm and head in a garbage can thing... and then Axl’s dedications, but not much about the song’s origin or meaning. Thanks again.

GNR just not the same without Izzy. He is the pin that slash pivots from. The Malcolm Youngs, Chris Shifflets (foo fighters) and Izzys of the world are unsung heroes.

I like the bit of mystery behind the studio version of this song, it sounds like Izzy on lead vocals but doesn't list any lead vocals on the notes and Axl sings lead when it is played live
@Papatorrejano8 жыл бұрын
Chorus for this song is basically inspired by "Patience" . Check Del James interview with Axl - included in the Patience single.

I know Axl denies it I do think, as someone who has it themselves, Axl is bipolar. If he is on meds for it now it could explain his weight gain.
@garleeblock93905 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I totally agree with you. By the end of the 'Use Your Illusion' tour, Axl had become out of control (his behaviour was totally erratic). Fast forward to the present day, & the reformation of Gn'R & subsequent world wide tour; Axl seems to have his 'shit together' so to speak. Axl, has turned up to every show, on time, & he hasn't freaked out, or done anything bizarre on stage 'at all' (in the past, it was a rarity for a show to go by, without Axl generating some issue/ or drama). I also thought Axl's weight gain could be the result of him taking meds (although I don't have Bi-polar disorder, I have been prescribed a few different anti-anxiety/ mood stabiliser's over the years; & they all seem to cause weight gain (for me, anyway).

ANYTHING Stephen Davis wrote should be taken with a grain of salt. He is just re-paraphrasing already conducted research and already established facts to cultivate it with his own embellishments. Worse than Kerrang!
