Guns N' Roses Song 'Perhaps' Leaks & It's Weird...

So it looks like the highly anticipated Guns N’ Roses song Perhaps which was scheduled to come out on Friday has leaked, but it’s kind of odd what happened. If you guys remember there were multiple news sites reporting the song was due out August 11th. There was news and even a recording of the band rehearsing it on this leg of the not in this life time tour and then you had a website setup for the song as well. August 11th came and nothing happened and the band didn’t play the song the same night at their show in Hershey, Pennsylvania. But it appears the song has leaked.

A number of GN'R fans have reported that the shelved "Chinese Democracy"-era song which was originally expected to be officially released this past Friday (August 11) populated on TouchTunes machines at bars and other locations across the United States. As the fans showed up at their favorite watering hole and went to play a GN'R song, they noticed the new selection in their catalog. The track came with what is apparently the official single cover art, and was attributed to Geffen Records, which is the band's longtime record label home owned by Universal Music Group.
One poster on the mygnrforums would write about whether the song appearing on touchtunes was a mistake writing There’s so many moving parts with uploading songs to these servers/distributors and getting ready for a release on multiple platforms. Sometimes things just slip by. Especially if it’s a last min decision to delay things
This is not the first time that there have been reports of songs prematurely appearing on TouchTunes. In April, fans of the American country band TURNPIKE TROUBADOURS were surprised to see a previously unreleased track called "Mean Old Sun" on the entertainment platform with 65,000 connected jukeboxes.
So apparently people can look up online to see which bars around them have Touchtunes so you can go listen to the song.
The first indications of a new song or music coming was dropped by Guns N’ Roses production manager Tom Mayhue who told an interviewer recently Regarding what the new GUNS N' ROSES material sounds like, Mayhue said: "It sounds great. It's a lot more kind of 'Appetite [For Destruction]'-orientated. They had a lot of songs. When the band went in originally and recorded 'Appetite For Destruction', I think they recorded, like, 29 songs. So there's a bunch of other music that was left over that didn't make the first record. I think there's only 11 songs on the first record."

I just heard it in the bar. The mix is much different than the original. The piano has been toned down n the drums in the verse slap a lot more. As suspected, axl s vocal track is identical to the old version but you here Duff n slash putting their own spin on things

This reminds me of how when VH put out A Different Kind of Truth in 2012 in that it was based on old demos instead of fresh, new material. To think bands when they were young and hungry were able to put out great new material yearly. Of course, you have lots of time to work on 1st album and then decent leftovers and new stuff for your next album. All that said, this "new" GNR song sounds good on first listen with an excellent Slash guitar solo.

Why is that Tom guy lying? They didn't record 29 songs in the Appetite sessions. Slash, Duff, and Adler's books all contradict this. And it doesn't have 11 songs on it - Appetite has 12 songs. Dude's making stuff up.

To be fair, it's been at least 37 years. I'm hoping there's 12 unreleased songs from the appetite era, but I have my doubts. It's such a shame what happened to this band. All those years of one of the greatest voices in rock and roll, were pissed away. I wonder if they would have handled things differently, if they'd known Axl's voice was going to go to shit.

Hard Skool and Absurd are both very weak - it looks like GnR are a spent force in terms of creativity so i'm not expecting much from another paltry track. And how pathetic, such an effort to produce a single track?? this is truly a joke. The Beatles wrote, on average, a new song every week - making about 300 songs in total. and as for sounding 'like Appetite' Axl and Slash are not 25 years old so it's not possible, or even desireable for this to happen. of course, A4D is the epic album, which we all love. But again, Appetite was released 30 years ago and most bands are unable to turn back the clock. This is simply nostaliga and marketing, not actual creativity. Forget 'sounding just like appetite'. Every single 'Metallica release is hailed as a return to the master of puppets sound, but its obviously far from the truth. The quality of music that is being written by millionaires in their 60's is obviously a far cry from the magnificence of youth. Sadly hard rock bands simply do not age well.

My detailed Perhaps review: AXL has GUTTED Perhaps featuring Mr. Robin Finck. Robin Finck's background guitars are missing in the AXL and SLASH Perhaps. Robin Finck's EPIC Perhaps guitar solo actually appears in the AXL and SLASH Perhaps for a FEW SECONDS. And just as you're GETTING your HOPES UP to hear Robin's EPIC Perhaps solo in the AXL and SLASH Perhaps in its ENTIRETY, that's when reality comes CRASHING DOWN and Robin's EPIC Perhaps solo fades out to Slash. The Slash KNOCKOFF solo sounds dated like something coming out of the 70's. The slash solo is nothing new. The Perhaps solo from Robin is NEW and it is EPIC. And Robin's EPIC Perhaps solo in the AXL and SLASH Perhaps is the HIGHLIGHT of the AXL and SLASH Perhaps. And AXL changes the singing before the Chorus verses and changes the Chorus verses too. This takes the POWER and FORCE out of them that were there and present in Robin Finck's Perhaps. That's not Perhaps. And the Robin Finck guitar outro with the sound effects is missing at the end of the song and has been replaced with karaoke like singing from AXL that FALLS FLAT. This is not Perhaps. This is not Robin's Perhaps. This is a RIP OFF and a CHEAP KNOCKOFF of Robin Finck's Perhaps. It is a CHEAP and QUICK WAY to make a QUICK and EASY buck off of Robin Finck's name and off of Robin Finck's music. And the AXL and SLASH Perhaps is a BAD SONG. @@stephenhood2948 well, I do know about all that. Izzy was the glue, he's the guy with the melodies. Count up all the songwriting credits dude has on the Illusions. Then count how many without him. Dude wrote Patience and Think About You by himself, You Could Be Mine and Don't Cry were mostly Izzy. Izzy was the one who was able to take Axl's paranoid rants and turn them into songs (Perfect Crime, Out Ta Get Me)...it's no mystery why the wheels fell off after Izzy checked out.
