Axl was never an asshole. He had a temper sure, but it's just that he didn't put up with bs. He loved his fans and didn't want anyone getting hurt. Even with all the anger he was the most level headed member of the group back then.

I was at the Giants Stadium concert. It was crazy. Especially the field/in front of stage. My friends & I got the cheapest tickets & would just sleep there the night before & when general admission was open you had thousands of ppl running to get as close to the stage as possible. Ppl would fall, but we’d help them up or just avoid them/jump over them. Thank God nobody was hurt. But 65-70,000 ppl packed that stadium. Great concert. I always try to see if I can catch one of us in the crowd. Impossible. We were all on top of each other & it was august. For some reason Guns Always plays NY/Jersey in August or late July. So it was over 100 degrees. When you’re 18, got a nice buzz, you don’t feel a thing. I was also at the Ritz show in NYC. MTV recorded that show. That was I believe February of 88. They were playing the Ritz, which holds about 5-6,000. 6 months later they were selling out a football stadium. It was funny cause after Guns a lot of ppl left. Didn’t even bother w/Aerosmith. 😂 great times!!! But I remember the effect it had on the band when those ppl were killed. They told us a few times to try & move back. Idk if that was before of after the Giants Stadium show? But they did say the same, Axl said everyone try to move back 2 steps. But it was to packed. Like I said tho, if we saw something happening, we’d help ppl up, ppl were passing out from the heat. They were hosing us down a few times to try & cool us off. Thinking back it was crazy. Lots of fights, but once they started we were all looking out for each other🤷‍♂️ just 2 of the 15 shows I saw.

Saw them at Giant Stadium in “92” with Metallica. Sat about 25 rows from stage. No GA at that show. Drove from Philly. Seemed like the never ending concert. Didn’t get home until 7am. Epic performance by both bands. An experience I will never forget.

@@KaylaYeager-mz5sd Yup, me too. I’m pretty sure there was GA. As I saw them a lot. All there concerts had GA at giants stadium. If no GA, they had rows of chairs on the field. My friends & I would always get GA Or the cheapest tickets they had & we would wander. But I was sure it was GA. It has been over 30 yrs & like I said, I saw them at Giants Stadium probably 8 times. I loved when they played at MSG. there you needed seats for, but, it was inside & didn’t have to stand in the heat at GS. Either way, Great show!!! Yes very long concert. We’d always go the day/evening before & crash after in our tents. Which was great cause we could drink. The day after was a bit tough😂 but at 20, you pop a few Tylenol & water we were fine. Good stuff.
