Axel still has his voice, but his technique is difficult to use, especially in the Pasaggio. His voice seems to be that of a baritone, so you can imagine what a prowess it is to sing high and with such control of the twang and raspy voice, and no matter how much technique he has and even if it doesn't damage his vocal cords singing like this is a huge expense of energy. I think it's simply difficult for him to maintain that pace at his age and he prefers to do it like he does now.

@@sealevelbear guns n roses would not be guns n Rose's if the lineup wasn't the original one... It's too easy to get on stage and play masterpieces you didn't write and call yourself a member of guns n Rose's. Guns wrote all their legendary music with another lineup, in this video you don't have guns n' Roses, you have old axl n friends COVERING guns songs. Guns n Rose's it's a story you can't erase you can't take just the recent present and call it better than the actual guns... As I said this is not even guns... It's not even a self existing band... They're just a cover band.

Zanzonait99 All of your opinions are at odds with how the music business works, how bands operate, and the legality of band names. Lineups change, like sport rosters change. The Chicago Bulls are still The Bulls year after year, even though the players change. Bands function the same way, and while you may not like it (and refuse to accept it) this is reality. I myself don’t always care for it depending on the band, but that doesn’t mean Van Halen without Mike Antony on bass isn’t Van Halen, it just means I prefer the past iterations. Think about Iron Maiden, think about Megadeth. There are plenty of bands whose original lineups did not create their most famous work. Life is complicated, not everything is ideal 👍

Didn't have that Les Paul "tone" that Slash made into a GnR ™, yet I really liked the way this guitar lead played with the harmonies and added some fun, yet subtle enough, vibes to most of Slash's main parts and plenty of playful riffing in between. It didn't feel contrived one bit and yet was noticeable enough so that it allowed him 'play the part', yet also add a bit of flair. 4/5, 🌟

Voice isn't the same but like a lot of you have said, he sounds like Axl Rose again. The shit he's been through and age alone will change a persons voice. Dude is and always was fucking awesome. Looks like he's giving it his all out there. At 50 plus years old he's out there running around and singing. Any hate for this mans ability is 100% ignorance.

I am a long time fan of Guns N' Roses. Often watched the old vids (particularly Welcome to the Jungle) to calm me down when I get PO'd at others stupidity. I am deeply saddened that you no longer have enough self esteem to think that you can carry your own shows. Save yourself some expenses and cut the dancers. They take away from your shows. You still have it! You can do this! Lots of Love!

I'm 51 years old in 2014. If people criticized me today because I don't do what I do today as well as I did it between 1987 and 1993 I would think they lost their mind. I was 24 years old in 1987. Now add 27 years to that, think about it and have some common sense.

Frostbyte Here's the thing though. If you pull up live performances of GUNS N' ROSES from the years 1987 till 1993, you will find many instances of Axl Rose (in his prime!), sounding very rough vocally. It just the consequences of his singing style when your singing 20 songs a night on a long tour. It's rock and roll and it's a lot of wear on your voice. Your vocal chords can't be tuned like a guitar or a piano. You can't put new strings on your vocal chords when they experience wear and tear. It's just this style of singing. Check out Jon Oliva or Steve "Zetro" Souza or Tom Keifer. Same issues.
