Some times you just need to have some fun. When they aren't training for self defense, what guns do Bill and Ken take to the range? Some of the guns they enjoy the most are the ones they grew up shooting. Some of the guns they enjoy are unexpected. But as a Gun Guy it is important to know every platform.

It is refreshing to hear these two explain they own and love a bunch of different guns. I love guns, all of them. Well, most of them. People have explained how I am misguided and "beware of the guy that owns 1 gun". I am so tired of that analogy. Would not mind if I never hear it again. Own many guns with plenty of ammo for as many as you like.

Nobody cares how many guns or ammo somebody has though. The man with one gun may have 10's of thousands of rounds through it, and 10 thousand more rounds in reserve. Point me towards a few cases in which a upstanding law-abiding citizen has use more than one gun in a gunfight. I can point you towards many many many many threads and with someone thinks they will. They are in tacictcool fantasy land.

I retired 10 years ago and have been re-living my childhood ever since it seems. I collect Smith & Wesson revolvers. I had a subscription to several gun magazines. I would drool over all those beautiful S&W revolvers and when I got old enough, I would save and buy a S&W revolver. After school / summer jobs, birthday money (Thank you Aunt Marge, R.I.P.) it all went towards guns -- mostly S&W revolvers. First collection was lost in divorce. 2nd collection was lost to a thief. When I retired I decided to rebuild some of my lost gun collections. I have 12 K-frames and 8 N-frames. I have other guns, a Tokarev M57, a WWII 1911A1, a couple of AR-15's, etc. But when I go shooting for fun, I've usually got a "suitcase" full of S&W revolvers.

My 100 year old Winchester '92 saddle ring carbine in 44 WCF. It's a great gopher gun because the gophers generally just laugh at me as the rounds thump into the dust. For a handgun and I know this sounds crazy, I enjoy shooting my S&W 4.25 inch model 629. The results of a 240 grain load at 1350 fps on a five gallon bucket full of water and newspaper are very entertaining. And yes, I'm an old fart, raised on Lee Enfields and Cooey rimfires.

Being in the 4th generation of a Texas ranching family, my Granddad taught me to shoot his .22 gallery gun pump rifle in 1960 when I was 7 years old. He gave it to me a few years later and I still have and shoot it. Wanting a cowboy gun, I bought one of the first "new model" Single Sixes. That is my favorite revolver. Those .22s are always just plain fun.

Bill Wilson mentioned “What if you had to use the only gun that is available?” I’m a firm believer in Iggy Piazza’s motto: “Any gun will do if you will do”. That comes with consistent training in the basics. (Haters - if you haven’t trained there - don’t bother.)

I have a dedicated fun gun. It’s a 1908 Vest Pocket in .25acp. It was made in 1913. I can’t imagine ever carrying it but for sheer fun it’s the cream of the crop. I have many many boxes of ammo from before Biden got elected that was sold for “clearance”. I even have it milk jugs at 50 yards with it. I won’t mention how many rounds it took to do that..... but it was fun. Great video as usual!

I just bought a '60 Remington Nylon 66 to replace the one that was stolen when I went off to the Air Force. My dad bought it for me when I was 12ish from a Sears catalog and had it delivered half-way around the world to Australia, where we were stationed at the time. It was my constant companion in the bush. It never failed me and with little or no maintenance. Glad to have at least a clone of it back again.

Oh, I have a Ruger Mk II with a spectacular trigger. When my shooting falls apart, I go back to the Mk II to work on the basics. The .22 is the cartridge that lets me focus on basics. And the Mk II is the gun that lets me do it with ease. 200 rounds through that and I am ready to start working my way up. - .380, .38 spl, .45ACP, .44 spl, .357 I just have to add power slowly after I get the basics.

Loved hearing Bill Wilson say 'Python and Ruger' revolvers for fun shootin', there's something about a revolver that is so very different to an auto, maybe it's loading the shells into the cylinder and then dumping them out afterwards but it just feels so rewarding especially with a good quality well made revolver. A great video, one of your best so far, it's nice to have some 'fun' injected back into gun ownership 😁

“The only purpose for a pistol, is to fight your way to your shotgun” Col. Jeff Cooper. spoken to my ear in 1990. Talk about FUN, shooting game birds over a faithful setter, or pointer dog is THE most fun I’ve had in firearms. Regarding CQB “The winner will almost certainly be the one who scores the first anatomically significant hit, a shotgun is an unfair advantage when everything is moving and you have no time to waste.”. It is nice to see guns for fun! I'm somewhat handicapped (injured while rescuing a lady when I was a firefighter) and, too, enjoy shooting for fun. The vast majority of my range time is for fun. I have an impossible time choosing which guns to bring so I, inevitably, bring 4 or more pistols, 3 ar pistols, 2 pcc's and a couple ak variant rifles. Just can't make my mind up! Really enjoyed this clip/conversation. I'm not a collector like these guys but love taking my 22s and revolver to the range. I get a few magazines of practice with my defense guns (Beretta 92 and Ruger LCP), but then enjoy putting a sight-in target 50 yds down-range and being dead-on with a 22 rifle or pistol--or my grandfather's S&W varmint revolver. And a 38/357mag revolver is just fun--easy to clean, precise, light SA trigger pull, and enough mass to balance recoil. The patrons shooting 45/9MM Semi-Autos , AR-style, and shotguns are just rapid firing at 15 yds for self-defense training and not having as much fun. And the folks that work the range notice--before I leave staff always ask about my variety of firearms. And the 22LR is so dirt cheap-- I can shoot hundreds of rounds for the price of a 50 round box of 9MM or 38's; and I don't feel sore or tired after. The sound makes people smile--or chuckle too.

GLAD to hear from you two "Old Farts..." LOL I'm one, as well. 71 going on 25... Been shooting for more than 60 years, and thoroughly enjoy it. I'm not much of a hunter, however. Small game and a duck or two, every few years, just to keep "in the game." Recently considered getting into CAS, since I love SAAs so much. Maybe "Ol' Duffer" should be my handle. Stay well, guys!

Being from New Jersey, I don't have to worry about a carry gun, so all I have is guns I shoot for fun. The first gun I ever bought for myself was a Ruger Blackhawk in .45 Colt (a single-action, just like Paladin used). Today, 50 years later, what I shoot is one of my Ruger Mark II pistols (I have 3: a Target model with a red dot, a Competition Target model with FireSights and a 22/45 with Firesights), an SR22, a Single-Six or one of my Blackhawk .45s. If I need something for home defense, one of the .45s will do quite nicely.

I'm with you guys on shotguns. I have 3 tacticool scattergats but when it's time to head to the range they stay in the safe. I do love to bird hunt and have a nice Browning for that.

I carried a revolver in my LEO carrier, and only have 2 Semi-Autos. With a revolver, from 17 to 500 the controls are the same. Muscle memory should not be discounted during stressful events. At 62 I have spent a lot of years not giving a hoot what anyone else thinks of my style in this world. For fun the K-frame 38 Specials are inexpensive to shoot, capable of game up to deer, and I can hit with one. Remember shooting game is fun! I also have a Japanese Mortar, and I take out a 1907 Winchester SLR in 351. Shooting fun is an individual thing. I was an NRA Instructor for 25 years, I have never shot a Glock! With neighbors all around buckshot is my tool for social work at home.

I'm 44 and bought my first firearm April 2020!! And fell in love shooting it!!! And then I bought 2 more firearms. They're handguns a SHIELD PLUS 9mm SHIELD 45acp and WALTHER PDP Full size. Got em for self defense, But I sure do love shooting them. Wish I could find a nice OUTDOOR RANGE here in PHILLY, or close to it!!! I PRACTICE frequently. But love to shoot for fun.

Happiness for me is a brick of .22 and a couple of .22 pistols and a rifle and a lot of cans, shotgun hulls, clods of dirt, random rocks and a few golf balls or ping pong balls scattered about the range.

We are friends...! that is the wife and I about once a week...sure, bigger bullets can be fun, too, but cheap bulk .22lr is what blows our hair back...hitting a golf ball at a 100 yards with funky ammo can easily take a dozen shots, works for us...

"Fun gun" to me is a 22, pistol or rifle. Pistol is Browning, or Ruger. Rifle is a 10-22 with wooden stock (current favorite has an old-timey Mannlicher stock - love that gun).

My fun gun to shoot is a flintlock. If I have the extra time to clean it. If you can shoot a flintlock accurately it is an awesome feeling.

Weird but I really enjoy shooting my Beretta 3032 Tomcat. When I go to my brothers 100 acre range by far I enjoy shooting the 12 gauge shotgun the most. Something about that snappy recoil and huge impact on target feels so good.

Good Point, my dad told me a long time ago, that you will learn to shoot better with a single shot. He was not wrong about that. You learn all the critical stuff with a single shot rifle/whatever.

I totally agree with how fun Tokarev pattern pistols are. Too bad the cheap ammo dried up, but they're still fun and in my experience, impressively accurate.

My favorite wheel gun is my S&W model 57 with a 6 inch barrel. 41 magnum is an awesome caliber. Bought it up in Alaska in about 91 or so on a fishing trip. It was my very first handgun. We were fishing directly across a creek from a couple of big brownies and it was a definite comfort to have that bad boy on my hip. We, ( bears included, were catching plenty of fish, ) so thankfully I never had to use it except for a little target practice. Great video, it's always fun to reminisce with an old friend. I would always " greet someone " with the trusty 12ga pump myself tho, lol.
