I had started my dreads 2 years and some months ago I messed with them the first year and then I decided to freeform just let them be. Crochet destroy the loc ripping hair making the loc dead pretty much I freeformed to do the real thing and to have dreads alive you know. 32 locs to 11 locs now And 7 of them are congos I’m glad I did it.

I got semi freeform. I do pretty light maintenance and just let my locs kinda form themselves. Ive been going in between doing maintenance every 3 months or maybe even 4, but my issue is I have a sweating condition so I get buildup from sweat which suuuucks

If you aren’t exercising everyday you should probably wash your hair after your work out. And after a wash you should definitely moisturize you hair. At least that’s what I do when I exercise.

Make sure ur washing ur hair w clean reduces no residue, not too often or too little. Make take time to figure out how often u actually need to as most people wash their hair w soap more often than they should. Also pat ur head, don’t scratch it. Good luck!

59lock what you should do is section and crochet your hair now. it’ll mature instantly and will look decent. it won’t exactly look like nle’s dreads yet, until you get a retwist, but making thin-ish sections and crocheting your hair now seems like the best option.
