Does Chester get paid? He's not Dillon's deputy and I've not yet noticed any mention of how he supports himself, though Matt's "paycheck" has been discussed. Does Chester just enjoy being a 'sidekick' and shot at as did Tonto?

"Yippee, Yippee come on out Joe Phy ima gunna shoot ya" Cicero Grimes(Ralph Moody)is the funniest character actor on the show. Gutta love how he talks. Wish he was in every episode.

I just recognized Howard McNear voice. I wish I knew how many episodes he played the Doc. Reason I'm asking is I've listened to dozens of this program and just now recognized his voice.

Howard McNear plays Doc in the entire series. If you have ever watched the Andy Griffith TV show, Howard plays Floyd, the barber of Mayberry.
