I grew up and used to live in a metro-mess of about 4-5 million people. Now I live in a city of around 120 thousand and work in a town of around 3 thousand, in the middle of cattle country, in Texas. There are people in this area that are a lot like Rio, a history to them that most will never know, because most are living too fast with no time for sittin' and talkin'. Just this week I heard the story of an old time rancher in the area that came into the local cafe while I was there. He is limping and not moving too fast. One of the guys at our table, who would never back down from a fight, said there was one time when he sure would not like to have tangled with that old man. Seems awhile back this "old" man was in a bar and took something someone said with a bad attitude. This "old" man cleared the whole bar out, including the bouncers, by himself. This is just one of hundreds of stories that I have learned since being here. I do not regret living in a very small town. It has helped to strengthen me.
