And he's the exactly same way in real life, so cool, quick witted, friendly, and down to earth. I took my Mazdaspeed 3 out to VIR and he happened to be there with his Porsche turbo. We chatted for a bit and he wanted to take the speed 3 out since he never drove one at VIR. I got to ride shotgun and let me tell you I had no idea that car could do what he did through the uphill esses, even outran his friend's E46 M3 at times. He gave me some pointers for upgrades afterward, took a picture with me and signed my dashboard (which is hanging in my garage). Just an all round awesome guy!

9:16 Stunning. Very RSR like. That flared bodywork is amazing. That track footage.....these look very very enjoyable. That 430 hp 4.0 seems dialed in to a good horsepower for an air cooled motor. Kudos Gunther Werks. Also, Randy is the man. With his experience it's great to hear his opinion on these types of cars. Especially when it is a Porsche.

I totally agree. The more that new cars are fitted with driver aids, the less interested I become. The technology already exists for cars to drive themselves around road courses at pretty high speed. Jay Leno did a video a few years ago where the car drove him around Sears Point Raceway. Jay was actually faster than the autopilot by a little, but that was a few years ago. So what's the point of buying a high performance car if it's going to nanny you around the racetrack? Who wins the trophy for fastest time of the day: the engineers that developed the system, or the lunkhead that just happens to be sitting behind the wheel?

993 will always be the real shining star of the 911 lineup. It's not the fastest but it's the BEST LOOKING of 'em all. This retromod is a dream come true and I wish Porsche would build something like this instead of the bloated 992.

WOW! Just saw this and this car is more to my taste than the Singer or any of the other modders that do the backdatiing with the flared wheel wells. II think the 993 body design blends in with the flares a little more harmoniously. Just my personal opinion.

Fantastic video. As a child I fell in love with the 993, but RUF makes the carbon monocoque, the pushrod-suspension, the Metzger 4.0L that puts out 500NA in their SCR. I cannot see how anyone with millions to burn on a non-original 911 would go with a restomod over a RUF, even with Williams on-board.

I would expect this thing to wipe the floor with the RUF. Don't forget, the CTR2 finished production in 1997. The Guntherwerks uses modern composites, like carbon fibre, modern carbon ceramic brakes and suspension and cooling. Technology has come a long way!

Theres just so much to love about these cars... The 993 is my favorite 911 platform and they continue to go up in value. The details with GW cars is amazing, the head & taillights, those wheels and ducktail. Plus the body and interior are amazing. I can only hope my 997 Carrera S with a LS3 (relax purists its a better motor in this case LOL) can be half as good. @seneca911
