Gunther, I've been following you since the beginning of my loc journey. It's been almost a year for me, and I LOOOOVVVEEEE my locs. I was so excited watching the video showing how to mature them a bit faster. I love seeing your work on yourself, as well as the work you've done for others. You're awesome! Definitely love your videos 💜💜💜

To blunt tips of locs.. I just cut the tips before I retwist my hair. Took 2 retwist for them to blunt. Every time you wash your hair it’s going to make the tips loose, just trim them off before a retwist and style 👍🏽👍🏽
@bonk3152 жыл бұрын
Why not crochet them ? Seems like in the long run you will lose a lot of length (if that is something you care about)
@heyson10262 жыл бұрын
@@bonk315 you can definitely crochet them but it will over time start to loosen. Trimming them you barley cut any hair off maybe 1/8th of an inch off the tips. It’s just quick easy way

How long should I expect it to take for my dreads to lock up? (I'm using the sponge to start my dreads)
@imjaydonn2 жыл бұрын
I think the sponge is to start your sections, you should use the Crochet needle, And Gunthers locking gel. I currently have two strand twists, and they are locking up pretty good. And you should expect about 6 months to a year, if you have a 3C-or 3B hair type.
@davinoingram22622 жыл бұрын

@@_syraski 10 YEARS?! boy you crazy
@miaj62362 жыл бұрын
it really depends on your hair type, if it’s a looser curl then it’s gonna take abt 6 months to start seeing results. But if it’s a tighter curl pattern then you should see results in a couple of months. And usually it takes a whole year for your hair to fully lock up unless you use a crochet needle. But, I recommend an oil and water spray everyday if you want to keep your hair moisturized and healthy in the process, and it can help you see results faster too! good luck 👍🏾

I need help from anyone with freeform dreads. Basically I’m trying to get freeforms with a brush and a sponge and my hair just won’t twist and looks terrible. Someone please give me tips or anything that will help. ( I have 4C hair and it’s past my eye.)
@jayzeus18432 жыл бұрын
I had free forms. I have more of a 4a-b hair type though. I used a micro fiber rag instead of a sponge but other than that I just washed my hair regularly then twisted while my hair was damp and eventually they formed. I would always separate them when I saw they were forming but I never combed through my hair
@locsman2 жыл бұрын
Patience young grasshopper. Give it time.
@Soulstealermari2 жыл бұрын
If you said it’s past your eyes it’s probably too long to use the sponge you either might want to start over and grow your hair to at least 3-4 inches then use the sponge or use another method if you have a 4c hair really any method will work
