Guo Pei never ceases to amaze me! Incredible! She deserves more recognition, even more so than the fashion houses we are all used to. Incredible!

I love the opulence of the fabrics and the architectural design of the clothing. Each piece is a fantasy, almost dream like. What I liked the most was that the models finally had some sensible shoes to walk in rather than those perilous heels they usually wear for Guo Pei.
@pinkmonkeybird2644 Жыл бұрын
I’m not at all knowledgeable about fashion, but these designs were breathing. The opulence of the embroidery, the layers of fabric, even the accessories (not the shoes, I thought those were too weird) embodied the richness of Himalayan culture and traditions. But they’ve been reinterpreted for the modern world and that makes them even more amazing. Many of the pieces could be reworked into real world clothing that anyone could wear and enjoy - if they could afford them. I think this is an amazing collection and both innovative and grounded at the same time.

The attention to detail, the exquisiteness of each piece, the historical significance and influence, the depth of the embroidery and design makes each piece a work of art. Absolutely spectacular and stunning. The amount of work and thought which goes into each piece is incredible and not seen very often. I wish we could see more of her and her work. Many of the gold and metallic thread fabric outfits remind me of the artist Gustavia Klimt who used a lot of gold and metallic colours in his artwork. Guo Pei has an incredible imagination for design and she’s not afraid of mixing historical elements with fantasy.

Beautiful pieces that reflect the deep religious connotations and meanings of the Himalayas to the Chinese culture. The silhouettes and reflect traditional Tibetan tribe's and monk's clothing.

I hate to say that,but If you considere China's place for Tibet you realsie that no Tebetian model could succed in China's fashion industry so she could be there.. I don't blame the designer tho.She is an artist not a politician..

I know this comment is a year old but if you really are a lover of Tibet then you woudn't appreciate this cultural appropriation. Guo Pei has no understanding of the cultural significance of Thangkas and Buddhist paintings for Tibetans. No Tibetan would wear a sacred painting of Buddhas for fashion. Thangkas are meant to be put on the highest place in the room and not be dragged on the ground. I'm surprised that there are no other comments addressing this issue (are they getting deleted?) when her Instgram account is full of complains under the posts of these dresses.

This is a style of fashion that is more artistic rather than wearable. There's shows that present clothes made to be worn by customers and shows that present clothing as art pieces and not to be worn outside the runway.

She's gone from beautiful, functional, colorful, and highly admired to ridiculous, irrelevant, with not even a hint of art appeal in just 5 years. Also the costumes are very sloppily put together; nothing like the attention to detail seen in the past. What a circus! The "snow" dress looked like it had pee stains on it...just terrible.
