Thank you , Guro Harley. This makes a lot of sense to me because what you don't want to do ,is put distance between yourself & the attacker with the blade that YOU are trying to control or subdue from further stabbing. Don't want to play around .

sorry for the delayed response. No this isn't from Sama Sama, although we may have covered aspects of Phase Two at Sama Sama. I don't think I taught this drill there.
