Kp s would Lways taunt s Kashmiri Muslims who talk about ) say anything go to Pakistan , the had so much superiority complex that when Kashmiri raja wanted to convert Muslims into hinduism ( Muslim themselves wanted to be convert) rajguru(kp) vehemently oopose it n whole KP rally behind him. They reap what they saw . They never ever cared about any other community , Jammu s Hindus were completely ignored , they never talked about Dalits who lived without state recognition . Go to kasmir u will no the reality the KP who r stated back in kasmir they r vehemently opposing repealing of art 370 only those who r living outside velly r supporting coz they knew they r not going to go back

In my early 11th class days, my grandmother used to say how can you go to Dalit's house and have lunch or dinner with them. I explained her not to carry such differences further. Your generation did things which were not correct. We belong to a generation where we have grown up together in schools and colleges, studying, playing, eating together. We are correcting what your generation carried a false pride for yourselves being from higher caste.

The so called political leaders use to have lunch /dinners with dalits at their residence. We cannot say that they have given up the social practice. Untouchability is practiced in Bihar every where. The high castes look down upon the dalits. Educated dalits are despised by the high castes. The discussion is going on even if there is nothing called caste. It seems that both the persons have not even read the basic Ambedkarite literature. We know what is Ph.D. now a days especially in Bihar U.P. People are occupying high places but forgotten how they had gone there. This is the problem with them. They are the psychophant actually. The real hypocrisy is displayed by these type of people.

@@alekhkumbhar2040 Katherine isn't claiming that they understand it- she is simply pointing out how they are having a civil conversation, which most Indians don't seem to know how to do. You seem to be among those ranks as well. Civil conversations are the first step in the direction of progress, so it is no wonder India is still struggling... Also, I don't think any number of years of training would suffice in your eyes to understand the subject- an upper caste person like Sham Sharma would always be in the wrong to people like you, and Guru Prakash would also be guilty by association. It is a shame that so many Indians fail to give others the benefit of the doubt and respect unique, fresh, or nuanced viewpoints. I hope people like you change in the future and become kinder and willing to listen, rather than self-righteous, judgmental, and suspicious of others. Certainly, most Indians operate out of contempt, not compassion, which is not good for anyone in the long run.

He rightly fought against caste discrimination. Caste was worst form of discrimination. India was invaded by every Tom,Dick and Harry due to caste divisions. Now Indian army has every caste and every religion. Army is a true Indian institution. As long as Indian army is there no evil country can do any thing. Already Indian army has called Chinese bluff. British DISTORTED Hindu history, Hindu literature, scriptures....to destroy Hindu civilsation. www.hindustantimes.com/kolkata/indian-history-was-distorted-by-the-british/story-0XmF9oSZpLPrFMcdwQdsOP.html The Mahabharata defined ethnic groups as jatis, whereas the British brought in the term tribes to describe the same thing, thus denigrating the homogenous culture of India. Jatis were defined on ecological terms. There is a popular perception that casteism started in India since the Vedas but that is not true. There was no casteism even during the Mahabharata period,” he said. Danino also rued the fact that Indians are apathetic towards the preservation of their rich culture and heritage. “1170 sites of the ancient Harappan civilization have been identified during its mature phase. But till date only around 100 sites have been excavated. There is a fear that 90% of the sites might disappear due to expansion of urban areas or agricultural land being converted to residential high rises,” Danino said.

45:30 most Indians, Dalit or not, do not have uncle, aunt, father working at plum places. A son of a Dalit IAS officer or minister is more privileged than most Indians. Many of the examples given by Mr. Paswan are a bit extreme. He does not look at, How Dalit community politics has been using abusive language. (तिलक तराजू और तलवार इनके मारो जूते चार and what not ). That's language is widespread even now. It should also be noted How brahmins voted for Mayavati, despite this abusive language. You see How Dalits insult religious icons. Why everyone ignores these incidents? it is because society wants to include them. Society is opening arms and Dalit politics is becoming arrogant. Having said all this, I get his point though, family experience makes a difference in today's India. If we invest a lot in education we may reduce this difference for everyone.

Guru Prakash's analogy of "When you are ready to accept your fore fathers property, why are you not accepting their mistakes" is not a solid argument, there are many instances of someone born in so called upper caste but had been dirt poor to start with and was discriminated against by the system. The point should be : "As a whole society we have to take responsible actions to correct the mistakes done by our predecessors." Personal caste based preferences will continue to exist for many generations to come. Even in SC/ST category a person from one caste won't usually marry a person from other caste. The goal should be to provide social and economical (and political) opportunities to everyone irrespective of their caste. So long Indian political and social system focus on giving socialistic subsidies based on caste instead of growth options, different castes will always fight for a share. It is a never ending vicious cycle.

@Kung Fu Money Bee 1.Yup , that's a problem . But we'll have to realise that the absolute power lies in the economy and better living standards .. That can only be possible if we can criticise our own and be the best of ourselves . In a broader sense ,we can only push our Dharmic principles if it resonates with the "betterment" of society and we are far from it. Remember , People respect culture ,not because what it works in theory ,but in the way it's implemented and the real world impacts the community has once it interact with others. Remembering that we aren't perfect ,so we need to push for it. 2 .Yes,But again We need to find a better and faster way of uplifting the poors and taking up hardworking people whichever class they come from. We need to ensure basic minimum. 3.Yes , we'll need to respecting someone's position and think logically to arrive at solution instead of shutting them up.

I am a Brahmin that hails from Bengaluru. Most of my friends group is Brahmin!!! There are very few that are not..... It is such a echo chamber it is not even funny. The ones that are not Brahmin's are usually other upper caste folk.... IT makes me wonder ... It should be a result casteist descrimination. There is nothing else that explains it.... If the problem is solved... there is not need to exist!!! so it is an existential crisis for the left!!! The indian Left... Kanaka Daasa!!! anyone? Buddhism is the second in the series of Ideas... Jainism being the First Matha!!! So Athiestic sects were the first ones and the most successful ones in India... till Shankara Came and subsumed the other two!!!! Let us not forget that... The end... AWESOME... Indeed right, Valmiki and Vyasa were both Dalits....

Shudras(I would not use the D word)are more Hindu than the Brahmans. Brahmans only preach, it’s the other castes who practice. And you see most of the so called leftists are actually upper-caste people. I as a Vedik would embrace a wise Shudra over any number of Brahmans that are hypocrites. There is nothing in Brahmacharya that promotes hatred for any other caste or even any other life in general. But off course discrimination have been a living reality for sure unfortunately. We’ll have to unite as one and fight it together. Those who want to keep us divided will never want the caste system to end, if you know what I mean. That’s the hidden truth.

From what I have seen and experienced, this caste system, community grouping, it has less to do with economy and social status and has more to do with social security, general lack of law and order enforcement and complete distrust over institutions. The day people won't feel the need to associate and identify themselves with a caste or a community to feel secure about their life and livelihood, caste system would die a natural death. However, till then, whatever glorified ideas might be put forward to counter the caste system, as per me, nothing effective would happen on ground. A food for thought, "untouchability" is an accepted evil and it's been almost done with and I'm as happy about it as I have ever been. However, talking with context, the "untouchables" were people who mostly used to do menial and "dirty" jobs like sewage handling and other such things. So, was it too "harsh" on them if they were not allowed to mix with general public, given the medical and health infrastructure of those days? And those who say that yes, it was still very harsh on them, I would simply ask them, what are we doing today with covid? Much like those "untouchables" who were prone to get various infections due to their work and could spread the infections in general public, even in this age of advanced medicine and health-care, our most potent weapon till date against covid has been to "treat" the patients as "untouchables", isn't it? Isolation and quarantine are the only two weapons to stop the spread, isn't it? anyone disagreeing? The point I'm trying to make, people often go on talking about things without having even the slightest of ideas of what they are talking about. Oh, ok, I missed the other question with which I always get those people trying to inflict a guilt feeling on the Hindus, I simply ask, considering the then existing medical and health infrastructure, please propose an implementable solution other than what existed? and I'm yet to hear one. Bottom-line, many things in our society existed because it might have been the need of the hour. Living in this age, to say something of the past as nasty and obnoxious is simply talking without any knowledge. Like my example, "untouchability" isn't for this age but back then, it might have saved thousands of lives, no one can prove it but no one can disprove it either, not to mention that we are kind of following it in the current pandemic as well.
