I think Murphy's is nicer than Guinness, when you lash it into the glass it actually takes as long as Guinness to set with a lovely creamy head. It is slightly lighter than Guinness with no after taste in the mouth kind of like ale so maybe its perfect for someone who has never tried stout, good starter stout maybe🤔

in the US a 4 pack of Murphy's is considerably cheaper than a 4 pack of Guinness, so it's got that going for it.

Murphy's cans unfortunately have the widget fail like this a little too often, it's a known problem. Love a good glass of Murphy's though, so hopefully they can sort that out soon.

Honestly, here in the U.S., Murphy's tastes very similar to how Guinness tastes in Ireland, i.e. incredibly delicious. However, Guinness in the U.S. is nearly undrinkable after you've had it in Ireland. Never tried Beamish!

@@Kevin_Harte I think the difference between the keg and the can is there, but if you try the Murphy's in can here in the states you'll notice it's better than the Guinness in can. I'd love to go to Europe and try the Guinness there.

Great video I got an 8 pack of cans of Guinness last week and a 6 pack of Murphys. not my first time with the cans of Guinness but they were by far the worst cans iv got,drinkable but my first time trying Murphys and thought it was real nice the head on mine looked way different than what you got.both were in the fridge for a few days and I'm getting more Murphys today and going to try beamish.great vid keep it going

Just watched this, couldn't believe how flat yours were!! I pore my can into my Pint glass( the Upside down just above the liquid level pulling up to the top) makes a very Creamy smooth drink 😋👌. It works for me, Cheers Grant. ( I Get 440ml cans maybe the Widget has less liquid to deal with...resulting in a better creamer drink? Just a thought. 😉

Did this taste test YEARS ago so I don't remember the exact flavors but I do remember my reaction... and it was the Exact same reaction as the dude in the green on the right here. Like Spot On!! Guinness was my favorite beer Period going into the taste test. Murphy's was the clear loser--still decent but a Clear 3rd place. And I remember thinking the Murphy's tasted closer to an ale than a stout (I know all stouts are ales but you take my point--it wasn't as full bodied or robust as the other stouts). And in the end the Beamish was the only one of the 3 that I'd not only put up alongside Guinness... it Might* even beat the Guinness--in a can at least! This review sounds spot on to me!

It appears the reason why you had trouble getting a good head is your glass seems to be dirty. Clean glasses will retain the head of a beer and create a lacing effect. Never use dish soap or put your glasses in the dishwasher as dish soap or detergent will leave a film on your glad that will inhibit the beer to foam. Always hand wash your glasses with a specific beer glass cleaning solution and it's best to also sanitize them afterward, then rinse the glasses with purified water before you pour a beer.

I quite like the Murphy's. In a way, comparing the two is not really a useful exercise as these are two quite different takes on stout. While Guinness is deep and full-bodied, Murphy's is definitely a lighter draught with a dry, earthy finish. I like Guinness for a winter evening by a fire, whereas I prefer the Murphy's for an afternoon cooking on the grill for friends. In short, I very much like both of these stouts and the choice for me comes down to factors of time, place, and mood. I will say that finding a bar that draws a really good Guinness in the States is tough. Mant barkeepers are lax about cleaning the lines, and because it is not as big a seller as in the UK and Ireland, Guinness can sit too long in the kegs. This is probably at the heart of why it is so hard to find a good draft Guinness in the States. Just as it's hard to find a great Irish pub here outside of New York and Boston. Nachos are NOT Irish pub food, though that is a little appreciated nuance - at least here in Texas. Cheers!

Guiness is temperature sensitive..too cold no gd...to warm..gets watery. I much prefer kilkenny , however guiness Is the only Irish stout available now here in nova scotia canada..kilkenny was discontinued being carried in our liquor stores

Murphy's is THE nicest stout in the world. FACT. The poor was atrocious. In fairness the can wasn't the best. From a can it needs to be opened quickly, poured aggressively, lifted lightly and enjoyed thoroughly. To really appreciate the beauty that is Murphy's you have to come to Cork and taste it out of a lovely pub, just as any drink. If anyone is looking to try Murphy's I would suggest going to the Mutton Lane Inn, The Sin e, Aye. If anyone has any other pubs suggestions put them under this, Murphy's deserve better! Usually enjoy this channel but this was questionable.

Ye are pouring stout cans wrong whether they're guinness, beemys or murphs. Just crack the can and dunk it upside down into the pint glass one pour, draw the can up whilst its filling. Perfect pint and head every time. Beamish is the nicest from a can by far.
