The main source of information for the study of the early Vedic age is the Rigveda which was composed of the Aryans. The founder of the Vedic culture were the Aryans, whose first arrival in India is dated around 200 BC - 1500 BC.
The initial habitation of Aryans was known as Brahma Varta or Aryavarta.
The Himalaya was mention in Rigveda as Jamvant Parvat. The geographical area of the Aryans was the NWFPm Haryana, Punjab, Northern Rajasthan, Western Uttar Pradesh.
The Rigveda gives us information that Aryans first settled at the region of sapta Sindhu or the land of seven rivers - Indus, Jhelum, Beas, Satluz, Chenab, Ravi and Saraswati.
