I squarely blame the Congress regime, by keeping the Hindu population illiterate and divided by caste for almost 70 years. Muslims and Christians grew by leaps and bounds in their education and general prosperity. BJP capitalized this. The only difference is Congress made people illiterate and foolish, BJP went ahead and made them IGNORANT TOO...Imagine an illiterate PM deciding on the future of India. CONGRESS IS TO BE BLAMED.
@thesaint9286Күн бұрын
The fact is Goa's demographics... almost 70% are Hindus (of which almost 90% are illiterate), 28% are Christians, educated (of which 80% earn foreign remittance, especially shipping related industries and the rest are into drug trade, and politics too). This is where BJP enters this political market and rest is history. No development, nothing. Zimbabwean play book UNFOLDED

More than any particular party (all parties work for the same boss) it's a certain mindset that believes in keeping people powerless/uneducated/illiterate/superstitious _ and of course ignorant. It's been that way for many centuries - and I say this in the Indian context.

I am also originally from Kalangut and we had an ancestral property there, but in the last 20 years things have gone downhill, especially after arrival of cashed up chhapri tourists from Delhi and surrounding regions. All our neighbouring properties were purchased by Punjabis and Hariyanvis and rented out. It became such a nuisance that we too were forced to sell and leave. We chose to move to my mothers native place in Shiroda, Sindhudurg. We soon noticed that many properties in Sindhudurg are owned by Catholics from Goa, who are now selling them to the same Dillikars that we ran away from. I am sorry to say that unless Narayan Rane does something about it, Sindhudurg is also going to become another north Goa.

Uppar middle class aur uppar class sochta hai ki jitne budget me india me ghumna hoga hoga utne hi budget me foreign ghumne ka chance mil rha hai so they opt for foreign countries...!! N worst part is that Indians are actually indisciplined... They don't want to enjoy the local culture... Har jagah par loud music daru sharab wahi chahiye..! Now even in remote mountains ppl from Delhi NCR have destroyed the whole essence of that place.. even there they want the same delhi wala khana.., daru n loud music...!! As an observer of Goa’s tourism landscape, I find myself compelled to address the myriad challenges plaguing this once-thriving industry. There are several reasons for the current struggles, chief among them being overtourism, which has led to overcrowded attractions and diminished visitor satisfaction. The influx of low-skilled migrants into the hospitality sector has resulted in a workforce that often lacks adequate training in customer service, further contributing to inconsistent service quality. Infrastructure development remains a critical issue, with the government grappling to implement necessary improvements. While I refrain from aligning with any political party, it is clear that building infrastructure in a democratic context presents significant hurdles. Environmental concerns complicate matters, as any plans for expansion may necessitate the displacement of residents, leading to a host of social challenges. In contrast, countries like Thailand have successfully created an appealing tourism experience, with infrastructure that rivals that of many Western nations. Visitors to Thailand often speak of being treated like royalty, from the moment they land at the airport to their arrival at hotels. This is a testament to the importance of investing in the tourism industry, as competition in a free-market economy drives destinations to enhance their offerings. Similarly, Dubai stands out as a case study in effective tourism management. Although I have not had the opportunity to travel there myself, the positive feedback from those who have visited underscores the success of their strategic investments in tourism. As Goa seeks to reclaim its status as a premier tourist destination, a comprehensive reevaluation of its approach is essential. Without addressing these pressing issues, the industry may continue to falter, leaving both tourists and local businesses at a disadvantage.

The answer is simple. All Long distance trains that pass goa should halt at karmali, madgaon and Canacona. Be it Goa, Shimla, Mussorie, or Darjeeling. Goa being associated with a sleazy variety of sex tourism, definitely was not preferable to the average Indian domestic tourist. Let us hope it has a message for those who have invested heavily in the so called "Pilgrim Tourist Circuits." Sooner than later Karma might catch up with them.

India... Indians ke liye hi mehnga ho gya hai 🤦 Secondly, even after changing high, indian services are the worst. India may b a poor country but indian tourist places are exorbitantly high

Locals are to be blamed. They OWN the properties.

It is common in Goa that when incidents involving Indian tourists occur, especially those involving locals who rely on tourism for their livelihood, the blame is often shifted onto outsiders. This allows the perpetrators to escape accountability. Rather than addressing feedback or improving their poor service, many locals become defensive, attributing any issues to outsiders or Indian tourists or chapri tourist. The attitude reflects a Portuguese colonial mindset, where greed and avarice take precedence, and millions of Indian tourists are left to witness this behavior and keenly watching …..

north india k logo ne andhadhun investment kiya hai Goa mein specially delhi Punjab se. inki wajah se achanak se real estate ki prize badhi jisse sab menhga ho gaya. mein har saal 2-3 baar goa jata tha. kabhi kabhi mahine bhar tak ruk jata tha. par after corona poora band baj gaya goa ka. jab se UP bihar k guthka dhari aa gaye aur punjab Delhi k gunda gardi karne wale hum logo ne jana band kar diya. ye to hona hi tha meri friend apne husband k sath wahan stay house chalati hai. wo sirf foreigners ya konkani logo ko hi rooms deti hai. Indians sirf hungama hi karte hai der raat tak. tod fod karenge. bilkul manners ya owner k liye respect nahi rakhenge. ladkiyan bhi kum nahi hai huddangi karne mein. sirf hum 5 log jo uske college friends hai unko hi rooms deti hai aur sirf foreigners

From neighbouring Sawantwadi, Maharashtra bordering Goa and agree with you that, Goa was getting filthy due to " Indian hippie type tourists and Bangladeshi type" and getting over priced as well.

Goa needs to diversify and actually need to change policy on liquor.. it isn't a union territory anymore. Increase tax on alcohol, improve the transport infrastructure probably a shuttle north -south monorail, primarily make policy level changes.

I (as an Indian) living in UK and myself discourage my American and British friends and colleagues from travelling to India due to safety and pollution concerns. But I find that foreigners are still fascinated about India... so it isn't too late yet.

Then at least suggest the good places in India not all places have pollution and safety issues. You in a way are being an enemy for your own country

You are not discouraging Americans and British. You psychologically know you are not one of them and are trying to cosy up so. You are catering to your cowardice.

SIR GOA IS A COSMOPOLITAN TOURIST DESTINATION. TOURIST COME HERE AS SUBSTITUTE TO THAILAND AND OTHER EAST ASIAN COUNTRIES DO YOU UNDERSTAND SIR. WHAT YOU ARE SAYING IS CONVERTING GOA LIKE VARANASI. IN THAT CASE YOU HAVE TO PROMOTE GOA AS A PILGRIMAGE DESTINATION AND THEN WAIT AND WATCH. UNTIL THEN THAILAND PATAYA WILL REMAIN AS FAVOURITE DESTINATIONS OF INDIAN AND INTERNATIONAL TOURIST. DID YOU UNDERSTAND SIR

Sirf Goa hi nahi baaki tourist destinations mei bhi bahut crowd badh gaya hai. Par hum aise kisi ek class ke liye to tourist spots ko limit nahi kar sakte na. Lets see how this works out in 5-10 years. But I have few hopes from older tourist spots. Naye destinations aa gaye hai which are more popular in middle and upper middle class (including foreign countries)

Biggest problem when traveling with family 1) dirty washrooms in 4 star hotels. Clean does not mean flow water on everything 2) people spitting everywhere 3) Zero civic sense. 4) Unemployment hence everybody is out there to scam 4) No hopes from any local/ state administration anywhere hence not mentioning
