இப்போது கிருஷ்ணரை பிரதிஷ்டை செய்வதற்கு முன் 7:03 சிவன் கோயில் இருந்தது. குருவும் வாயுவும் கிருஷ்ணர் சிலையை பிரதிஷ்டை செய்ய நல்ல இடம் இங்குதான் என சிவனிடம் வேண்ட சிவனும் அதற்கென்ன நான் வேறு இடத்திற்கு போகிறேன் என சொன்னார். அதனால் சிவன் இப்போது இருக்கும் இடம் சிவனின் இந்த மகிமையால் மகிமையூர் என்ற பேர் மருவி காலப்போக்கில் மம்மியூர் என்றானது. குருவாயூர் கண்ணனை வணங்கின புண்ணியம் கிடைக்க மம்மியூர் சிவனையும் வணங்க வேண்டும் என்று குருவும் வாயுவும் சொன்னார்கள்.

Every day huge crowd, i suggest better will go afternoon 1 PM to 1.30 PM. that time within 1 hour you will see Guruvayurappan. Other time definitely it will take 5 hours to see the darshan.

Chennai to guruvayoor train no 16127 morning 9 am starts from Chennai Egmore. Reached guruvayoor the next morning at 6.40 am. Evening 3.45 pm SETC bus available from Chennai cmbt. Another option is to go to Thrissur by train or bus , from there go to guruvayoor. Frequently buses are available from Thrissur. Thanks
