I was there. My sister and I woke up in the early morning twilight and headed for the bay. We moved in the dark along the winding old streets. Along the sloping relief of a small town. We saw the dawn. It dawns faster in the south and we, accustomed to the viscous Siberian sunrises, were amazed. The pink glow quickly spread across the smoky clouds. It filled the space. In 10 minutes, night turned to day. A small number of locals went out to swim at this time. Mostly elderly. Absolutely unforgettable. It was the last day in Crimea.

We used to go there before the war, before 2014. I was in children camp there twice. Sadly, not after 2014. I haven't been to any camps since, though I truly loved them as a kid. I'm from a small town near Donetsk, for the context. In 2014 I was just 12 years old.

Your channel is a lighthouse of beauty & solace in a world often painfully barren of such things - thank you for these thoughtful compositions

Love the paintings of Aivazovsky. A lot of his paintings are from Crimea. The place I was born.
