Omg this evokes so many happy memories for me. Life has gone by in the blink of an eye. I’d give anything to go back in time to those happy carefree days with all my friends and family . All my family are gone now. My memories sustain me. Till we meet again mum and dad. I love and miss you so much.

Ja habe es als Kind gehört und meine Mutter und ich liebten es. Nun bin ich in Australien und meine Eltern sind lange schon verstorben. Ich wußte nicht das Berry Gibb es in Australien geschrieben hatte. Habe gerade erst herausgefunden das es sein lied ist. Diese Version ist aber immer noch die schönste.

I absolutely adore this song! It remind me of my wonderful wonderful late Father whom I lost at the age of 17! He was a professor of music and yet he loved anyone loving any kind of music even though he majored in classical!

@@peterhild6702 The Guildhall School of music and drama. He was Principal of the junior exhibitioners scheme for any years until he became very ill. Very sweet of you to reply and want to know more about him. I loved him so much. He was charming, handsome e and very talented. He was Est friends with Yehudi Menuhin and Stefan Grappelli he used to play with both of them as a trio. The piano (My Father)

Habe dieses Lied, welches im Radio wie ich finde, heute sehr selten gespielt wird, gehört und mitgesungen. Und dann hier dieses wundervolle Video von 1968! dazu gefunden. I bought the single back in 1968 (Phillips blue label) and still manage to play it sometimes. The very BEST single ever. I still have their albums, proper albums, vinyl.

Habe Gil und seinen Vater 2000 in meiner Zeit in München kennen gelernt. Abi hat mir von seiner Karriere und den Bee Gees und diesem Song erzählt. Da war ich 40. Jetzt 63 und dieses Lied werde ich immer lieben. .

@@rzymann , und ich 24 . Die LP aus DDR Zeiten " Melodie einer Nacht " habe ich immernoch, und auch noch in Bestzustand, von 1966. Wir können uns glücklich schätzen, in dieser wunderbaren Zeit gelebt zu haben. Ich kann mich an nichts Verwerfliches erinnern. Ist auch gut so. Liebe Grüße

@@DirkLorenzen Allerdings: Man denke nur zB. an den unsäglichen, grauenhaften Vietnamkrieg, der seinerzeit im vollem Gange war, an Biafra, die DDR Diktatur mit Walter Ulbricht, die Auschwitz-Prozesse, den Nazi-Bundeskanzler Kiesinger, dem atomaren Hochrüsten etc. um ein paar Beispiele für die "heile" Welt der 60er zu nennen... Ich halte die genannten Dinge für absolut verwerflich, aber durch die rosarote Brille der Vergangenheit verklären viele Menschen alles.
