Heard this broadcast 'live', as a young teen. Fair to say it never left me, and I'd still like to play like this - each chord, each bend succeeding inevitably. This is close to perfection- which is a bit more than you might say about Eric. Who's deffo close to god, obviously.

@@2uconnerLol. Bingo darlin'. This was taped right there in the very thick of that infamous and well-documented, extended period when E.C. was never NOT at least "a little bit drunk". Also, I believe, this program episode, and performance set went down during the same time as when Clapton took to fly-fishing for sport. He was known to be quite the restless soul with his free time, whenever not recording or performing. And was constantly finding new hobbies and interests, that he would dive right into and as deep as possible. I always loved coming to learn of any such things from in his personal life. Imagining and picturing it all, and just the thought of him being that way. It was never just any kind of phony, posing and showoff shit with him either. Whenever he would see someone doing and being knowledgeable with something that so far he had never himself yet known, given thought to, or seen as close up, and then as soon as he had, decided to himself that he rather liked the thought/sight/notion of it. He would just go about the rest of his day with a smile on his face and a fire in his belly, and then begin the very next day, seeking out, shopping for, and securing the absolute best of information, and most professional and high quality type items that he would need to actively participate in earnest, and way beyond any mere beginner or layman level. There was never any "just testing the waters", or halfways for E.C. whenever something new to him would catch his eye and pique his interest like that, sufficiently to motivate action because he yearned so much to be associated. Talk about having multiple irons in the fire. And all expensive little obsessions too. At any given time, he could be seen juggling all at the same time, luxury Swiss watches, yachts, vintage guitars, houses, and Ferraris!
