It is arguably the biggest disaster in seafaring history: the sinking of the Wilhelm Gustloff on 31 January 1945. In addition to examining the background leading to the catastrophe, the documentary also probes into some of the unsolved mysteries concerning the sinking of the Gustloff.

Saw episode one and now two. An incredible movie experience about the Gustloff disaster. One can understand why so many died as the ship went down fast, trapping many inside her and many more died in the frozen Baltic Sea. A truly sad event to be brushed over like it was. @@JackArkitekt Should Russians have loved Germans after what they had done to their people during Nazi occupation of the USSR? I could tell smth about the atrocities they committed in my native city in 1942-43. My grandparents were in their thirties at the moment and told me a lot of what they witnessed in those grim years.

Germans received Denazification and Nuremberg trials, BTW, German killed 6 million jews, do Jews hated afterwards Germans!??? MV Wilhelm Gustloff was a German military transport ship that was sunk on 30 January 1945 by Soviet submarine S-13 in the Baltic Sea while evacuating civilians and military personnel from East Prussia and the German-occupied Baltic states, and German military personnel from Gotenhafen (Gdynia) as the Red Army advanced. By one estimate, 9,400 people died, making it the largest loss of life in a single ship sinking in history.

To nie była Rosja, ale Związek Radziecki. Według dzisiejszej interpretacji Aleksander Iwanowicz Marinesko, kapitan S-13 - a zatem morderca prawie 10 000 niewinnych kobiet i dzieci - był Ukraińcem.
