Hey Ray, well after all the years of videos and reviews on many products and it could be I had a bad one too I guess. I was getting the TST one and you had this one for an idea and I did try it. It took several tries to get sensors loaded and then after ones dropping , deleted all and tried again. Finally got the four on truck to work but third trip out another sensor never came back up. So after that it had to go back. Never got to loading the trailer and went with and yep costs more the TST model. Just my experience but the TST loaded quickly , menu was easy and sensors have not dropped. Hope yours keeps working for ya. Glad your making it down this year !!!

Thanks for the feedback. So far I've used it on 7 trips with no issues. Has worked the same as my EEZTire. Heading out Monday for our snowbird trip south so we'll see how it goes as we put on about 1500 miles of towing in the next couple of weeks. Was it the same for you with and without the booster? I never installed it so that's why I ask. Cheers, Ray
@nonrevhogan89383 жыл бұрын
@@LoveYourRV Hey Ray , no i hadn't installed the booster as i was only trying on my truck first. Didn't get past that. Maybe batteries were old. Unit was charged and plugged in. But after all that messing around, gave up and sent back. Didn't hear anything from them on why sent back. It's all good. Tst is working great. No booster either but just using on boat trailer now. So glad your making it down this winter. Look forward to the trip!!

During our latest outing, we had a blow-out on the rear trailer tire that I didn't see or feel. It was a very busy freeway with a lot of various bumps and vibrations, so that may have been why I didn't have a clue. Another motorist drove up next to me and gestured that I had a problem (with the trailer, I KNOW I have problems, haha). Would have been nice to know right away. After waiting a couple of hours for a tow truck to help with the spare (my tire socket wrench decided to develop a crack after only 25 years of service), we finally got back on the road. We passed 2 other trailers with flats in the next 5 miles! Both were dual axle rigs. Tow truck driver called me a little later to make sure I made it out of there. Nice guy.

I have a Valor TPMS System. The sensors are mounted inside the wheel. No sensors exposed. I have used mine for 6 years works great. Adding air is easy. The major drawback is they have to be mounted inside the tire. The batteries are good for five years. I just change when tires are changed.

I have the EEZ tire system (purchased after watching your review). If this product is $100 cheaper that's good but what makes it even more of a deal is that it includes the booster in the package. I needed a booster, at the time the recommended booster was the TALON, cost me nearly $150 plus tax on top of the EEZ tire system cost.

I have had the TPMS and now use the TST system. This is a much better price, and performs and looks like the TST system. Seems like a great buy for someone looking for a TPMS. Thanks for a good review.

A couple of things I have learned from using a TPMS, One: replace rubber valve stems with metal. Two: if you are towing get a signal relay from the same company so you don't lose signal. I had flats on all 4 trailer tires from failed valve stems due to the weight of TPMS. Two flats in one day.

My tow vehicle has OEM TPMS so I only need the 4-sensor kit. I only paired 3 sensors (2 tires on the trailer plus the spare). When I lock in the pairings my display shows 4 tires...the 3 trailer tires and the right rear tire on my TV. I re-paired several times and same thing. I haven't mounted the sensors on the wheels yet so that might help clear out that one pesky sensor that's showing.
@LoveYourRV6 ай бұрын
Sounds like you haven't chose which position you want the sensors to show on the display. You can put any tire in any position if I remember right and there was a spare position at the back
@DragonPilot6 ай бұрын
@@LoveYourRV Thanks. I followed your video and the instructions very closely. It keeps adding an extra wheel which I have not paired. A note came with my set that said all four sensors were already paired, but that was assuming they were for a 4-wheeled vehicle. I’m using this kit for my 3-wheeled trailer. I even tried pairing the fourth sensor to my trailer’s spare tire to effectively having two sensors paired to the spare. Didn’t work. Thinking defective unit.
@LoveYourRV6 ай бұрын
If it came pre-paired you likely need to unpair the sensor. Enter setup mode where you position and code sensors and scroll to the sensor you want to remove and try holding the minus sign down for 3 seconds or so. It should show all Fs and then be will unpaired and not show anymore.

@@LoveYourRV OK…I performed a complete sensor scan once again…this time the unit was fully charged. I actually paired the spare tire with two sensors and this time the errant tire on my TV went away. Seems to be functioning ok now!

As always, a clear and concise review. I would, however, suggest CAUTION vis-a-vis switching to "metal" valve stems. Your wheels might be aluminum, and there then WILL be a bi-metal corrosion likelihood. The OEM TPMS system on our Nissan Rogue, with metal stems, have all been changed to rubber/silicon/I don't actually know, because of bi-metal corrosion causing leakage...FYI.
@LoveYourRV3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the heads up. I had a tire shop do mine and 4 others have changed the tires and never mentioned anything. I think they use a nickel plated stem versus brass to combat any corrosion. So far I've had them on there 8 years and no issues. Cheers, Ray
@frankd97673 жыл бұрын
Looking at the size of the tire sensors, it would seem you should rebalance the tires after installing them. Any thoughts on that?
@LoveYourRV3 жыл бұрын
Could if you want but In the EEZtire manual it said no need for balancing. These don't seem to be any heavier. I never rebalanced and haven't noticed a difference. They weigh .64 of an ounce

Ray, The replacement worked perfectly and I just used it towing my Casita travel trailer on Annan 860 mile trip. I noted in low ambient light situations. The back light blinks off and on roughly 10 eco drive cycles. Is this your experience as well? Overall I’m very satisfied. Thanks.
@LoveYourRV3 жыл бұрын
Good to hear. I find at night mine stays on but if the daylight is dim like at dusk it will flicker as the auto light sensor tries to decide between day and night. My EEZTire was the same way.

Hi ray I’ve been looking at purchasing a Tpms how is it with rubber valve stems or would it be advisable to change to metal stems 👍
@LoveYourRV3 жыл бұрын
I personally think metal stems are best, one reason other then being sturdier is I think they will transfer the heat better for more accurate temp readings, but having said that my truck still has the OEM rubber stems and I'll use them until next tire rotation and then get them switched over. I figure they will be OK since they are newer and pretty thick rubber since they are on a 3500. The downside to metal stems is if you do scrub a curb really badly or say a tree branch or root then will tend to shear off compared to the rubber having more flexibility. Cheers, Ray

@@LoveYourRV your right I would probably put metal stems on the trailer I do also have a dodge but a dually that kit would be perfect I’ll look into it thanks again

I programmed the system multiple times, on my single axle trailer and spare, but each time when I finished set-up I could only get a blank screen. I never got readings even with the monitor within 10’ of the sensors. I read something in the Amazon listing that said the system would only show readings if the vehicle was in motion to wake it out of sleep mode. Was that your experience? I can’t tow my trailer right now to test it. I’m wondering if it’s defective. As with my last posting, their customer service is nonexistent. I’m thinking of returning it and ordering another one or a different brand
@LoveYourRV3 жыл бұрын
After the initial setup mine will show the readings anytime I turn it on, moving or parked. If it's been off for an extended time or the first time programmed it does take 5-10 minutes to pick up the readings. The display does go into power-saving sleep mode if no motion but wakes up right away if moved or tapped on, I've used the unit on 5 different tow days now and it's been perfect. Sounds like yours isn't saving the settings for some reason.

Ray, After watching your video, I purchased the Gita TPMS. My new Casita travel trailer has short valve stems placed close to the rim which made it impossible to screw on the sensors. Because the accompanying instruction said they had 24/7 assistance, I first tried calling for advice on if and what type of valve extenders I should use or if it would even work. The recording said call back during regular business hours. I then sent a question in there chat box. I called the next day and talked to someone with a foreign accent who did not seem to know much about this but would check with the company and get back to me..I then sent them an email with the same question. I never got a call back but 2 days later got an email response stating that they couldn’t help me and to go to my local auto parts store for help. Rather nonexistent customer service. I’m tempted to send it back untested. Do you think valve extenders are safe? Would they still accurately give a temperature reading. Thanks for your help.
@LoveYourRV3 жыл бұрын
Sorry I'm not sure about safety of them, maybe a tire shop could tell you. Maybe you can have the stems replace. If yours are rubber might be a good time to have metal ones installed. I'll pass along your comment on the support to the Guta rep that contacted me. Cheers, Ray

Those sensors look pretty large. Do you think they would fit on the inside dually wheels in the back of a truck? Also, do you suppose that the inner sensors would be easy enough to remove so that one might air the tires as part of the preventive maintenance? I know you don't have duals in the real, but I'm hoping you might be able to estimate, or perhaps one of your on-line fans might have experience. Thanks, Ray, for another great program!

With my Eeztire system I got flow through valves for the duallies. The handholes are just too small to use the others on the inside. Would be near impossible with these larger ones.

Great video, crappy product. Today, I tried to install this product straight out of the box. Not one of 10 sensors would connect with the monitor. I sent an email to the email address indicated for customer service. It came back as undeliverable. Customer service is nonexistent. They have asked me for my full name, mailing address, model number numerous times. While they respond by email, they ask for the same info over and over. They said that they would create a “ticket” and “escalate” it to management for a solution, but first they need the information that I keep sending and they keep asking for. (English may be their second language at best.) If this system is cheaper, I’d invest the extra money for one that really works.
