How easy do you think it is for clients to actually use GutenBricks and Gutenberg. I'm coming from having avoided working with Gutenberg at all costs because it has seemed pretty clunky to use and not exactly user friendly.

Awesome video as always! Can we use the blocks on other sites without bricks builder theme or the gutenbricks plugin itself?

No, they are created in Bricks and the additional functionality is provided by Gutenbtricks I’m afraid.

And actually after some days later and a good video I realised how really impressive it is, to let the client editing the content and still keeping the design 🎉🎉🎉

I think this will become an absolute essential for anyone doing client work - a Bricks addon that's right up there in terms of necessity with a custom field plugin like ACF.

Hi Paul this looks great however my only fear is possible performance hit problems?
@WiredWP7 ай бұрын
Hi, author here on the frontend, there is no measurable performance issue. Although there are overhead in terms of extra lines of codes. When it comes to Gutenberg editor, we are loading extra styles and Javascript. So the loading speed would depends how many extra addons are used on the page. But once they are all loaded, it's light as feather.

This looks good.. but I just hate the look of Gutenberg. Which now has me looking for something that can FULLY customize the look of Gutenberg editor! Anybody know of something?
@WiredWP7 ай бұрын
Hi author of the plugin here. We're considering customization of Gutenberg editor that supports white labeling, if there is no better one as we need it by this summer for our agency clients.

Can't get too excited by this. I think Breakdance handles this requirement natively. And if i wanted my clients to update the front end of a Bricks site, I would do that via ACF > Classic Editor. I may well have missed something tough! Cheers.

I like this concept. I have often used Elementor in such a way, where I only give users access to pages with ACF fields.

What are the odds Thomas sees this and builds it into Bricks? Oxygen has a Gutenberg plugin but that project was a failure since what was in the builder did not sync with what was in the block editor.

We've already prepared our product for the possible native implementation to protect the value our customers paid for. We will be always a few steps ahead of Bricks native implementation. Sort of like BrickForge/AdvancedThemer approach.

So, in order to be able to create something nice in GBlocks, I need a Bricks Builder and Gutenbricks. Or otherwise… in order to be able to work with a piece of shit named Gutenberg Blocks that, by the way, is a million of light years behind even the worst page builder nowadays, I will have to ensure the license of Bricks Builder and Gutenbricks. Is that a joke?! I mean, it would make sense if Gutenbricks blocks could be exported as a self-standing GBlocks but otherwise, this is just stupid.
@WPTuts6 ай бұрын
I think you have the wrong end of the stick. This is a plugin specifically to be used with Bricks and not something to make Gutenberg usable.
@dameerdj54036 ай бұрын
@@WPTuts how the heck is Gutenbricks useful to Bricks Builder? I really can’t wrap my head around that idea.
@WPTuts6 ай бұрын
@@dameerdj5403 the whole point of the plugin is to create a set of design elements to pass on to the client to keep them out of Bricks builder itself, but still allow them a certain level of design control (i.e. content, images, colours, but not the design of the block). You as the designer have full control over everything with Bricks, including the ability to build custom blocks with Gutenbricks, but the end user (i.e.e the client) will only have access to the design elements you provide and no access to Bricks to make potentially breaking changes.
@dameerdj54036 ай бұрын
@@WPTuts Correct! And now I can rephrase myself; if I want to enable my client to compose something really useful with GBlocks/Patterns (or manage it), he/she will have to buy a license of Bricks Builder and Gutenbricks. And then I'll disable an access to both of these in order to keep my client fingers off. Pretty much futile. I rather hide (a simple CSS) all the Bricks Builder elements that I find unnecessary and allow my clients to manage the content directly in editor. Why bothering with GBlocks builder at all? It's less intuitive than BB, it's literally useless (by default) in this day and age, and it'll always remain Matt's fiction that keeps great developers "busy".
@WPTuts6 ай бұрын
@@dameerdj5403 well, it’s not for you and you prefer to work in a different way, that’s cool. Others will prefer to use a tool like GutenBricks. Horses for courses.
