What people don't realize is that we are already using cricket powder in some of our foods today in the United States and there's problems with that because our bodies cannot digest the protein that are in insects and also if you have an allergic reaction to shellfish you may be allergic to the cricket powder too because they have some of the same enzymes as a shellfish so you're going to have a lot of allergic reactions to it too

I feed mealworms to my pet reptiles. I have a foot and a half long bearded dragon, two water turtles, and a Southern flying squirrel. THEY eat mealworms (squirrel once in a while), not me. You couldn't pay me enough to swap out steak for bugs. Not that I can afford steak.

It’s already in Big Macs and other processed meats. A lot of them use chitin (the hard protein which makes a bugs exoskeleton) as filler. Bugs are also used in certain food coloring to help make this meat look more “meat” colored.

When I was in high school, in Iowa, in the 1950s there was a fad that we all had fun with. We could buy chocolate-covered ants and sauteed grasshoppers at the corner variety store. It's about long term control. First thing to think about is what animals eat insects and how smart or aggressive are those animals? What percentage of the aminals' body weight dose it need to consume in insects to remain healthy? Another down fall to humans eating insects is simply our digestive systems are not designed to eat insects, it requires more energy to digest the insect then you actually get out of them - most noticeably when it comes to body-mass index (under weight in this case), diminished muscle and bone health, and lower mental awareness to touch the surface. Our species became the dominate life form on this planet because we re-discovered how to make and utilize fire which we used to cook our meat with. As a result, the precess of cooking killed any parasites, bacteria, and viruses in the meat. The process of cooking breaks down the fats and fibers, releasing beneficial enzymes and making the meat easier to chew and digest. The result was not just a bigger/denser brain and better nervous system, cooked meat also allowed those parts of our brain to develop which separated us from limited mental capacity of animals. By introducing insect eating to children to schools is an effort to normalize the practice as those children become adults. Do you notice how these global warming reducing demands our by individuals who have no intension of following any of the rules they want the "peasants" and "useful idiots" obey without question.

Many years ago I took a survival class. We were fed White Crickets (aka: House Crickets) that had been pan fried in butter. They were surprisingly good. One of the class members had brought their children to the class that day. They were grossed out...until they tasted one...then we couldn't get the pan away from them! They kept eating and eating more and more and loved them. The crickets you DON'T want to eat are the wild BLACK CRICKETS. They are horrible tasting! I'm wondering when they will introduce GUINEA PIGS into fast food restaurants here in the USA. They eat them in South American (known as Cuys) and they are legal to eat here in the USA. You won't take my WHOPPERS away from me though - that will be the last straw. :(
