This is one of the best renditions I’ve ever heard of sit down you’re rocking the boat, guys and dolls is one of the best musicals ever. Huge praise for this whole cast

Without a doubt the best rendition of this song since Tituss Burgess blew the roof off the theatre in the otherwise awful 2009 revival. This is a song that has always needed to let its gospel flag fly. Bravo to this cast and this production.

Normally I'm not into altering classics but THIS was a much needed adaptation and beautifully done! Love the choreo and the addition of tone and style.

What a cheery energetic song- put a smile on my face this cold windy afternoon. It was a great production!

A fabulous production of a wonderful show. Hats off to the cast, crew and especially the director. In many ways better than the 90's Broadway production. Go and enjoy!

We did this song for MTI's All Together Now, my twin brother played Nicely Nicely Johnson, and I played his devil, singing the lines about the devil and handing him the dice/whisky. Good times

This was an absolutely world class production. " Miss A." was brilliant casting, extremely charismatic. "Sarah" had a phenomenal voice, and this video piece morphed into a gospel jam. Been to West End, Broadway, etc. This was easily that caliber. Need a dvd!

I was so captivated by this show I ended up seeing it three times. Might be my favorite Guthrie musical yet, and I've seen quite a few!! Excellent job to everyone involved!! ♡♡♡

PLEASE , please say "George Washington was crossing the Delaware ... and his crew was saying, Sit Down, George, you're rocking the boat"! I heard this ONCE, ONLY ONCE on TV, about 50 years ago - and then it disappeared into the Twilight Zone and I never heard it again ...😢

There are always purists who like the original rendition of something. I love this new version, but I miss hearing Col. Cartwright popping out the soprano high C out of nowhere (the icing on the cake). This version also changes out the typical big chordal ending you are accustomed to hearing at the end of these big 11th hour showstopper numbers.

Close to the Stubby Kaye version. Excellent.

adding dick tracy to the guys and dolls multiverse was a move

Bobbie's high C gets lost in here, which is disappointing; I think I'd go up and wail an F above in Frankie Valli falsetto, it would carry more and make more impact.

Wow! How on earth did you get the rights to post this?
@scottw6704Ай бұрын
They probably secured it when they bought the rights to perform it. It saves a lot of time for the production team to take care of that early on so that they can plan their choreography ahead to be TV camera-friendly, as well.

@@victordunson719 A lot of assumptions there - above all your own authority in these matters. Also, acting is not just verisimilitude, there’s a lot more to calculate - you dolt.

1) It's a standard 11 o'clock showstopper number, 2) the premise of the whole scene is to go over the top in pretending it's some sort of revival of sorts; if you watch standard/"original"/traditional staging and choreo, it's all done way over-the-top Busby Berkeley style. And like somebody else said - gospel music and black church. Effusive is an understatement for those experiences.
